 Hi,

Just looking to see if someone might be interested in this. Basically, I'm part of an ongoing Mass Effect RP that's looking to recruit a couple of new members.

Won't get too bogged down in details but the basic jist is that the rp is set in the ME universe between the events of ME2 and 3 with the characters being members of a ship's crew. Think Mass Effect meets Firefly meets the A-Team.

At the minute, the crew has completed it's latest mission and a lot of the crew are moving on due to a number of R/L reasons for their players.

Also, sorry for the somewhat vague initial description, like I said I'm just trying to gaugue if anyone would be interested first of all.

That sounds fun, I would be very interested to participate. I'd have to know some of the rules for making for this one though, especially creating a character.

Character creation is up to you. We have an abundance of humans but won't put a restriction on who you want to play. Write up a dossier with stats, personality and history and we could take it from there.

Characters from the game are off limits, you can reference them if needs be, but all the characters are original creations.

Also, no supermen invincible type characters. We try to keep it grounded in reality somewhat, so no Rambo.

How would one participate? Like in D&D we all get together and play in person, but how are you doing this over the internet? Video chat?

What kind of powers/abilities do you get? Like if I wanted a Biotic character (which I would).

Is there a link to where you play? I've never actually done an RP before, but it sounds like an interesting creative experience. I'd like to see what it's like before I make a decision to join.

Final question until I think of something else, what do guys think of melee-weapon carrying characters? Swords, Tomahawks etc ?

 It's freeform for the most part, characters can react and play anyway they want.

- The powers are up to you. If you want biotics then that's cool. Just don't overpower the character into some sort of unstoppable badass. We keep them mostly on equal footing.

- Composition of the team at the minute is all human and one Asari. We had more aliens but they have since departed.

- Custom abilities should be ok if they are possible in-universe. No controlling weather, lol.

Oh yeah, might as well be honest about this. If you read a bit into the rp you will see we had a couple of characters who are terrible, including a Justicar who acted like a sweary stripper. These have since left and we're probably going to be slightly stricter in that regard.

If you pick a role to play, be reasonable in that role. So no Quarians suddenly developing an immune system and walking suitless around the Citadel. (Yes that has happened)

Yeah, well almost all the crew are in the US so timezones aren't too much of a problem even for me.
