I'm going to weep openly if Halloween is canceled again this year due to freakish weather. We had no power for like 10 days last October. Not directly in the path of the storm like NJ seems to be but close enough to worry.

At my location we're supposedly gonna get 65-75 mph winds.

Yay.

Southern New Hampshire, it will literally right next to us. Probably only about 20 miles out. We've already had **** weather storms this year, two flash floods (including one that destroyed my basement), and a week and a half long power outage, which was the third in two years. I think what ever weather hits us will be tolerable, but just the fact the hurricane is gonna screw up everybody else is what I'm worried about.

I live in Belgium, so have never experienced hurricanes of extreme power myself. I hope all of you guys will be safe, though. :/

There is a reason why these hurricanes bear female names...good luck to all of you that'll be affected by this nasty dame...

^ Never underestimate the rage of a woman indeed! XD

On the positive side: With all the power outages y'all will certainly have a spooky Halloween. :D (ohoho, I'm so blunt)

@Prince: Electricity is so overdone. How about a game of ghostcalling with some candles? Getting possessed by the summoned ghost is a nice bonus too! :D

I live in Texas. The most effect I'm likely to see is people pontificating over whether this will effect the election, e.g. President Obama actually looking presidential for once causing a swing of voters to him (wishful thinking), or disrupting the election in eastern Pennsylvania enough that the western part of the state outvotes them enough to win it for Romney (also wishful thinking).

On a lighter note ... seriously, why do all the really nasty hurricanes lately have female names? There's comedic potential there.

As a Floridian, I find the Sandy hype machine quite amusing. There were two different storms that were forecasted to hit where I live (but never did) this year and nobody batted an eyelash. Yet, you'd swear the East Coast would cease to exist here in a few days.

****ing wusses.

Well I'm sure the loser of the election will be able to blame it on the hurricane, because why not? Anyway, I'm guessing things will be so bad up here that the anybody trying to vote will likely be captured by cannibals.

Hurricanes with female names are more destructive you say? It is known.

The East Coast will be subjected to days of anarchy and cannibalism.

Floridians, upset at losing out on a hurricane, will stock up on vodka and have a hurricane party anyways.

It is known.

The Canadians will take this opportunity to launch an invasion of Maine, but their one tank will break down right before the border.

It is known.

However, their fifty-cal armed dingihies will use the cover of the storm to slip into Norfolk and severely chip the paint on the destroyers and aircraft carriers.

It is known.
