I think our Warden and Hawke will be mentioned in the game, hawke may even have off screen actions since it involves war with mages and templars and Hawke was in the centre of it.. but the warden.. again we might hear our warden mentioned.. but that might be it.

Anyone guessing they'll make male Warden and female Hawke as canon same as Revan and the Exile?^_^

They might eventually, if they make enough games that imports become unwieldy. But I think they're going with the no-canon system until that happens.

I want no forced canon Warden or Hawke! I am already sick to death of that "Revan" impostor in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Luckily from info in other threads it seems we'll be able to determine details about them ourselves in-game.

given those options? I'd rather they not appear if they aren't going to be true to how i played them. Especially with the Warden, Origins didn't have the "set" DA:2 personality so I think it'd be even more dificult for my Warden to react how i think she would.

Perhaps we could see both in passing but they dont really interact with the new Protag? But then that also comes in with the issue of facial feature inporting. They could also simply be mentioned.

I don't envy the devs if they go the route for the Warden and Hawke showing up. That will be quite the task

Simple question: since it seems many fans desperately want to meet Warden/Hawke in DA3

I'd not say that many want to meet them, but there were few hints, that they ARE going to appear as NPC on import game, no matter how we like this idea. Could be just rumours, yes, but part of that tweet (like human hero) was already confirmed.

I started a thread about theorethical ways of doing so, considering that any kind of "import" mechanism is very unlikely to happen (too expensive for cameos). There are possible solutions how to use Hawke or Warden in game without both importing the "real" face and screwing fanbase.

It's much-much harder with Warden, though. Hawke at least had recognizable set voice (and race). Warden barely had anything recognizable besides his\\her face.

Here is the thread itself, in case someone is interested in discussing further possible ways of preventing set canons and default Hawkes. Possibly, we could generate some more ideas, that devs had not taken into consiedration yet.

But in case I have to choose between default and none - I'd vote for none.

The dominant tone is a bit of a blunt instrument - for example, it cannot take account of the different shades of roleplaying, say a Hawke who is charming to his friends and aggressive to anybody who barely tries to antagonize him.

If he had a major role in DA3, it probably wouldn't work. Still, for a brief conversation/cutscene, I think it could be pulled off deftly.

I would argue that DA2 couldn't handle that.....

But I disgress.

In regards to a canon face: *pic of Sten* No.

Theres no reason they have to have canonized appearences to make appearences.  Especially Hawke, you just need to fully cloth them including their face.  Import or somehow tell the game what the gender was and it can handle the rest easily.  Warden would only be slightly harder as dwarf and elf models would have to be made in addition to the human.  A single voice (per gender) could still work for them.  Just make it kind of gravely and maybe somewhat old and weak at the excuse they are close to their calling.  A voice that kinda fits with every race, so just kind of right in the middle of the spectrum.  You don't want a dwarf with a somewhat high pitched elfy voice.  I really doubt many people will care that their chosen voice from DAO doesn't import since you hardly even hear it.  I know I for one wouldn't care at all.

I think Hawke's appearence is far more likely then Wardens though, just because of how much easier it would be.  As easy as I think  Warden would still be as well, at least in my proposed way, if I were a betting man I'd say they'd elect to just not even bother and keep them just as a mention, maybe at most a short voiceless cameo.  Heck, we might just find their corpse in the deep roads as an easter egg, their calling having already happened, you never know.
