Break barrier, ragdoll them away from you (and towards any enemies, or friends you feel like screwing with), kill them.jordie3000 wrote...
As much of a pain as the Scions are, and as ridiculously quick as the Praetorians are (with their Laser Eyes of Going Through Cover +5), I still enjoy them. I mean, I'll still groan when they come up on an U/U, but they kind of feel like they were meant to be tricky. Geth are just haxx.
It's also been, I hate to say it, kind of a fun challenge to figure out ways to deal with the Possessed Abominations that are coming right for you.
If you've got a class that can ragdoll stuff, sure.
I know what you're saying. I'm not complaining, I legitimately have had a bit of fun figuring out ways to deal with them on various classes. I just feel like I'm saying I like homework when I say things like that, and no self-respecting person who was ever a kid feels right saying that.
Yup, Collectors have definitely taken a large chunk out of the fun in this game.

1) Reaper
2) Collector
3) Cerberus
4) Geth
I don't see how one of the easiest factions ruined the game

I think I've lost count of how many times I have been left on the 10th wave doing the objective by myself because everyone has been slaughtered pathetically by the Collectors.
Only for me to waste my medigels to revive myself and get collectively (lolpun) mugged by 9 Troopers/Abominations and sniped by Scions while trying to deactivate a beacon or whatever.
Literally next to never had this issue before but now it happens at LEAST 3 times a session of playing ME MP.
Don't think I'll search "Unknown" faction ever again until people actually learn how to fight them properly.
PS: Scions can burn in hell, they despirately need a nerf. Most OP unit in the game.
Dont play against Collectors than, they are my most dreaded enemy because they are the only enemy on silver i expect to use medigel

but
collectors made U/U a pain because we used to say, this guy is not good against this faction, better use this one..blabla... but it was alright you could still manage, now you have to factor in a 4th faction which makes it even harder to have a character well balanced against all 4
and of course, as of right now a lot of classes are at a huge disadvantage fighting collectors without even mentioning what could have been their previous weakness
i am waiting till collectors are fixed to judge more than that though

People are like "give us harder modes/enemies" "add collectors" "add this".
Then when Bioware does they just qq about how they didn't want it THAT hard, and this class has one ability they hate, or the new rare gun at LV 1 doesn't outperform their LV 10 UR stuff.
I personally love collectors I don't think they are really that much harder than anything else. Sure scions do more damage then they are supposed to (apparently) but they are easy enough to kill since they are huge, shoot slow, and walk slowly. Now my problem is more with the Praetorians that fly at insane speeds even if you try to kite them around and the fact that (possibly due to slight lag) their lasers seem to hit me through walls and when I am 10 feet away from them.

the most important issue with them is the damage scaling as difficulty increase not being applied (for combos)

Dragoons give me more trouble than the collector faction combined.
But Collectors are hard on large open maps, in maps where you can funnel them like London is a map that makes the Collectors almost trivial due to Praetorians and scions huge size.
For example a couple of games ago a Scion blocked the route for 2 Praetorians another scion and enough troopers to start a band.
We simply shot the junk behind the Scion.
Mortti tactics. Never thought I'd actually be able to utilize a tactic from the winter war so efficently in a video game.

Glacier is hilarious with this...
Just be calm and focus fire on the targets behind the blocking one and you profit...hell, glacier is still explosion paradise.
(Full biotic team on glacier will simply demolish collectors because of this...)

I'm convinced that folks who consider the Collectors "fun" are masochists. While what can be considered fun is subjective, the word "fun" can be defined as the enjoyment of pleasure, usually in the form of a light-hearted activity. I associate "fun" with pleasant feelings, not the stress and frustration of being staggered/stunned by a couple of Praetorians and several Collector Captains as I medi-gel myself due to the fact that the rest of my team's been downed by cluster grenades and one-hitted by scion nukes. Call them challenging if you like, but fun would be the last thing I'd describe a game against the Collectors.
Are the scare-quotes around the word "fun" really necessary?
Also the word "fun" can be defined as the enjoyment of pleasure is redundant.
We live in a world where people voluntarily surf huge tidal waves and mingle with Great Whites in shark cages, implying that those who enjoy challenge in their video games are masochists is a silly exaggeration.
