Yup, Collectors have definitely taken a large chunk out of the fun in this game.

I find them to be the hardest faction by a wide margin, but they're not what takes the fun out of the game. What takes the fun out of the game has been there since day one: randoms. Randoms who won't use medi-gel, not even on wave ****ing 9.
That's because they wasted all their medi-gel on Waves 1 and 2 of their previous game and don't want to shell out the credits for even a Recruit Pack.

Geth just ****** me off and Cerberus lose all enjoyment when I see literal walls of phantoms/dragoons coming at me.
Reapers are fun too, but the novelty factor of the Collectors hasn't worn off for me yet.

I think I've lost count of how many times I have been left on the 10th wave doing the objective by myself because everyone has been slaughtered pathetically by the Collectors.
Only for me to waste my medigels to revive myself and get collectively (lolpun) mugged by 9 Troopers/Abominations and sniped by Scions while trying to deactivate a beacon or whatever.
Literally next to never had this issue before but now it happens at LEAST 3 times a session of playing ME MP.
Don't think I'll search "Unknown" faction ever again until people actually learn how to fight them properly.
PS: Scions can burn in hell, they despirately need a nerf. Most OP unit in the game.
They are the funnest faction to play against. No exploits, no boring grandefests.

According to the information posted in that thread (which has been confirmed), Collectors take reduced damage from biotic/tech combos. Scions also deal double damage with their arm cannons. Unfortunate bugs, but this is the current state of the Collectors. So right now, the Collectors are bringin' on the cheese.

The Scions are alot like the Primes with similar heavy plasma round long range attacks, slow lumbering movements, and powerful melee attacks, PLUS they have granade bombardment from long range with incredible accuracy more so than their plasma rifle rounds which is pretty bizarre. Sure their humps are a weak spot but it still takes many hits to take them down even using that as the target. And often times you have at least 2 of them together or more which makes it all the harder.
Praetorians are the most powerful top level enemy unit in the game. They are fast, have powerful long range laser eye attacks that goes right through the THICKEST cover as if there was nothing there. They can melee you or instant kill you at close range. And they HOVER above ground several feet which makes hitting them with anything much harder it is a built in agility like defense bonus you usually only see on units like the Phantom.
Finally, you have several units at once that can become super powerful with Possession. Even though it should only be one unit at a time for it to make sense with some cool down times until the next possession. The single player certainly has longer cool down times than the multiple player. The cool down time could be slightly faster the higher up the level of difficulty if it made more sense with in its own game rule mechanics.
And it is often said they are the least cheap enemy faction? Yet they also do plenty of things that have been considered cheap when the same types of things were done by other factions. This is still not a matter of strategy aligned difficulty measures. There are no units that buff that you can take down to gain advantage. There are no strategic points to take to give you advantage or take one away from the enemy. There is no apparent weaknesses to tactically counter in some units such as Praetorians, which has all the best advantages of the top Boss units of every other faction and NONE of their weaknesses.

Granted having your hacking-circle swarmed by Praetorians and Abominations is a pain, as is having your Pizza-Delivery guy attacked by a Possessed Scion who is passing out his cluster bombs like its viagra at the old folk's shelter....but they are a challenge and to me it makes sense. The Reaper enemies are what the Reapers have thrown together for the invasion (litteraly in some cases...ie Brute) They've had the Collectors under their control for thousands of years, plenty of time to make an effective force of shock troopers out of them.
Only thing I really don't like about them is the Scion Death Ray making my tanking characters cry like the new guy in the prison shower.
