Is it just me or are there lots of high N7s playing bronze right now?

After a few horrible silver games with terrible pugs I decided I wanted to get a characters last 2 games for a challenge over so I went into bronze.  I find  n7s of 2000-4000 in these lobbies with 3000+ challenge points and fancy banners.  So when are people going to go back to silver and gold?   I wont even play pug gold anymore since all the players who actually belong in bronze are trying gold.  While it seems that the competent players are all screwing around in bronze doing challeges.  I had a guy using a particle rifle x in bronze on a lvl 20 destroyer now thats just plain overkill even with the nerf.

Maybe they were were campers and are going back to learn the game, N7 doesn't mean anything, the banners, well many of them, can be obtained in bronze....there are only a few banners that may give you insight to the ability of the player....in any event, it's there game, they can play what ever level they wish.

Well my N7 is only in the 800's and yes I have over 3,000 challenge points and banners, but I am a Bronze player regardless.

That's the best place to farm credits with the smallest collateral damage lol. It's easy, and you get easy money. :D

The challenges have caused a lot of us to both promote and use lower-tier weapons. Thus many of us high N7 players are now playing bronze matches with crappier weapons at low levels while leveling our characters up.

N7 3Ks aren't high 23K sounds pretty high imo. N7 3K actually at this point in time sound like they belong in bronze/silver.

It's because of the number of waves completed... Each bronze game takes 15 min, sometimes even 12, compared to 20+ min per match.

It could be that they are trying to grind some of the challenges.

I consider myself a decent player (not good, nor average), and these days I play mostly gold, with the casual platinum. But I like to go back to bronze to help the people new to the game. However, when I do go back to bronze, I use my uncommon weapons, sometimes a rare if I feel it will help more the team.

I have to tell you, nothing's more fun than Drell Adept cluster grenades on Bronze.
Wave starts;
Reave everything;
Throw 27 grenades;
Visit 2 ammo boxes;
Throw 24 more grenades.

But yeah, if I don't like a class, I'll play it on Bronze for the waves because it goes the fastest. Or if I just promoted, or if I'm trying an unusual build. Don't blame the players; blame the challenge system.

no, I do bronze to do speed runs with sihtty weapons to complete challenges.

Harrier X in bronze? hell no

Get pulse rifle? hell yes! ( I just completed that one.)

to give an idea, I had the GRP in a gold match, wave 10 with friends and for a lots of reason all died after the objective (we had not ideal load-outs) and i tried to finish the wave: the two banshee following me (the last enemy) where regenerating the barrier faster than me empty the 600+bullets, chase the ammo box and repeat...

Or I need 200.000 melee points: I make a lobby, krogan smash all the things and anybody can join to the feast.

Yeah I have noticed this too. My N7 is only 311 with 650 challenge points and I find myself out scoring these guys with massive numbers.

I have been venturing into a few more Silver and a couple Gold games recently, but I have to say I spend most of my time in Bronze too... I am just too much of a fraidy cat! Plus I only play with randoms, so it is always a bit of a crap shoot as to the standard of players I will find.

Its the fastest way to complete most of the banners, especially the ones for extraction/waves completed.

A 3000 N7 would put you in the top 1%.  That would also indicate around 600h of gameplay.  Somebody with 600 hours of game would have played around 1,800 games.  I'm pretty sure that they would be ready for gold and platinum.

It certainly seems like the challenges are driving a lot of people back to Bronze. Understandably so if they're using inferior weapons and don't want to have to try to grind it out in Gold. Overall I have no issue with this with one exception. Some people will play Bronze matches, with level 20 characters, level X Ultra Rares, and top Gear such that anyone else in the lobby is completely redundant and can't hope to gain much in the way of points at all. I don't know why this happens, but it would be nice if those that do it could at least tone it down a bit.

You may find it weird but bronze and silver are where most of them belongs. On gold I find that most players with N7 above 1000 cant handle themselves, some to the point that need to be carried.

I found silver to be not much longer but 2x extraction credits, so given a still incomplete manifest, silver it is.  Under 20 minutes for extractions is plenty good enough.

Probably grinding for some of the banners, specifically the ones that require waves completed/Extractions.

Its because gold/plat pugs right now are terrible, just leechers for days not helping us, and generally being at a bronze level (theyre just after mass credits as theres so much to unlock now) - plus there are promotion challenges so theres alot more lower level characters floating around. I save gold/plat for friends and stomp silvers for easy money and I dont need to consumables.

What do you expect when banners such as commando requires 200x waves with 10x different characters. A bronze game just takes 14 mins against the 30-40 of a gold/platinum.

There aren't many people with n7s above 3k on the leader board.  Mine only got to 2k becuse I promoted for a challege and to get resets since they fixed it to remove all points without using cards.  A guy with an n7 of 3200 and a lone wolf banner isn't what I call a player who belongs in bronze.  Nor is someone with a particle x or harrier x both of which I just encountered.  I was using my crappy guns ie a phalanx and shurken.  At least there wasnt some poor noob with a 25 n7 standing around begging to get a kill.

Weapon Challenges. Because the Disiple, Hornet and several other weapons are so pathetic that they can't even be used on silver.
