Is it just me or are there lots of high N7s playing bronze right now?

I've considered going to Bronze to finish up a lot of remaining waves for my Batarians and Krogan. Bronze is the easiest and fastest method.

I saw a guy with over 10k challenge points last night. Was not rocking a banner. I think his N7 was over 7k. On Bronze. I was just, "Hmm." He was playing an Asari Vanguard with a Hurricane. Revived him a few times. Ya know, Scions. Odd, but it's your game, man. Play it how you want.

Probably because people tell them to drop difficulty levels if they can't handle gold. So they did, and screwed the bronze players

Ive done a slew of challenges on bronze basically as a courtesy to teammates. I won't make a gold+ team suffer through some of the crappier weapons Ive done for weapon challenges.

But heres what makes me scratch my head: Why are you pugging? Solo bronze. That way you get all the points toward your challenge and you don't make real bronze players' games snoozefests as you wtfpwn everything in sight.

Maybe they were were campers and are going back to learn the game, N7 doesn't mean anything, the banners, well many of them, can be obtained in bronze....there are only a few banners that may give you insight to the ability of the player....in any event, it's there game, they can play what ever level they wish.

I run bronze / silver when no ones on and grind wave banners as well as gun challenges at the same time.
It is very relaxing.
It has nothing to do with skill, it's just casual fun.
I even get nice messages when I run lower difficulties because I make stoping sync kills / reviving my team priority.

I assume they're doing the challenges.

But maybe they're tired of blowing all their gel and getting reamed by the imbalanced post-patch characters like Geth Bombers, Dragoons, Collectors, etc. Bronze is the old Silver, Silver is the old Gold, etc. I know I have a lot less fun playing Silver than I did before the patch, so I mostly stick to Bronze.

I've been challenge grinding on Bronze since last week. I only ever play Gold/Platinum, but haven't touched them in more than seven days, solely because I want to unlock all of these banners.

Because challenges.

I usually just start solo and let others join my lobby if i want to do some Bronze or Silver for the challenges or if i want to relax after frustrating PUGs on Gold or Platinum.

I play in Bronze a lot because the friend I play with won't play in Silver since Retaliation and the patch came out. Kind of sucks for me because despite the fact that the game has gotten harder, Bronze is still boring for me unless I'm with a really bad team, then it can be fun to finish waves by myself. But the reward for doing so is so minimal that it's hardly worth the effort.

Map Mastery definitely, since it shows you've at least been able to play a good number of gold matches to completion. Solo Mastery, maybe. It's not particularly difficult to cheese gold solos if you know what you're doing, but it at least means you know enough to be able to cheese a gold solo.

N7 3Ks aren't high 23K sounds pretty high imo. N7 3K actually at this point in time sound like they belong in bronze/silver.

A 3000 N7 would put you in the top 1%.  That would also indicate around 600h of gameplay.  Somebody with 600 hours of game would have played around 1,800 games.  I'm pretty sure that they would be ready for gold and platinum.

I have an N7 of 1590, and that's still good enough for the top 1%. Either way, tons of people don't bother to pointlessly promote. I only do sometimes to spice up the game and play at lower levels.

As a courtesy I take all characters below level 10 to Bronze for leveling up. I also test some of my kits there before graduating successful kit concepts up the difficulty tree. Also, Volus.

I have a N7 of 3,775.

I have been playing Bronze a lot more for two reasons.

1 - After promoting - I can rank a character up to a lvl 6-8 quickly and head back into Silver or Gold.
2 - I don't have to use consumables when I am low.

The challenges have caused a lot of us to both promote and use lower-tier weapons. Thus many of us high N7 players are now playing bronze matches with crappier weapons at low levels while leveling our characters up.

this.

and there are a few characters and weapons i am not comfortable with going into a gold match with.  not a big fan of the krogan...so im weary of using them in gold. a drell...i would use in a gold match. im weird like that. Im used to faster and squisher characters. bigger beefier cumbersome ones....not so much

(I'm at 2680ish) I play bronze when I don't want to burn through consumables, and when I'm levelling 1-14/1-16 depending on the character. But the primary motivation is to avoid using consumables. When I find a good group on PUG's I tend to stick with them for a while for the very same reason on Silver and Gold.

My n7 rank is like 1000ish. I frequent Bronze and Silver. (my manifest sucks too much for me to be useful in a gold)

Challenge points 2545; N7 in sig. I've, thus far, managed to remain in Gold completing challenges. Though, admittedly, I haven't focused on the weaponry challenges yet.

Regarding N7 rankings allegedly meaning nothing: I disagree. Generally speaking, they give some indication to a players skill level, more times than they don't. Yes, their are some exceptions. I have a few friends with lowish N7 ratings who play very well indeed. However, most other players at their rank in Gold--do not.

My only criticism of higher N7s (3500+) is that a mentionable number of them lack skills in game etiquette (i.e., suddenly leave, expect to be revived--even if their playstyle is reckless, or are reluctant to use consumables).

These findings are based on experiences during the 1801 games I have, thus far, played.

I do rarely bronze now but sometimes, to test weapons or just to relax, because even if Gold is more and more easy, bronze is just a way to have real, real fun with this game. Exploring, head-butting everyone without thinking about other players (wait... lots of people do that in gold :P), trying to kill ravager hand to hand with a asari adept, falconfisting the praetorian only to be crushed to death, or going IG with shiruken just for fun.
That's quite fun as nobody want anything from you, because theoricaly everybody even the noob is able to finish bronze without gelling.

It's because of the number of waves completed... Each bronze game takes 15 min, sometimes even 12, compared to 20+ min per match.

Sometimes as short as 10 to 12 minutes.
