That felt less like "LOLart" and more like an obvious DLC hook. I can live with that.

ME3's ending is still worse, because BioWare intends to leave it in that state.

ME 3's ending IS and actual ending (I happen to like it), while this one is not: it's more of a "to be continued..." cliffhanger.

It has nothing to do with ME3's ending. The simple fact it didn't offer any choice already make them incomparable.

Really? In ME3 original, your choice only changed the color of the explosions. Everything else was basically identical.

Of course, those different colors meant that different things were happening.

. Until the EC, there was no proof for that

It got worse, it got worse, it got worse and it got horribly worse. Yep, totally seeing the variety you're speaking of.

I've just watched the ending to AC3. It makes me feel tons better about the ME3 ending.

What can be deduced from that, I wonder?

It was pretty obvious, only the consequences weren't shown on screen.

:DDDDDDDDDDD I love this... this is not even the ending of the whole AC saga. :D I mean it is pretty obvious that it will continue in one form or another: maybe Mr. Miles is not that dead, or we will have a completely new protagonist and we will have to visit completely new eras of history with another bloodline. Even if it was its ending AC was never about its fantasy lore and its story (modern time). ...but I love how most people can't swallow grey things or events that does not take the goold old safe hollywood formula. All they want is their traditional heroic happy ending, where everything is as happy as it can be.

It is hard for most people to think these days.  I don't need a happy ending.  But I do want the ending to be done well.

I happen to vehemently dislike ME3's ending, but I respect your opinion.

Agreed. That's why I needed the EC for ME3. Until then I couldn't enjoy the ending. Not because of its concept, but because it was very badly executing. It was a mass.

. I didn't pay $80 to head canon the ending.<_<  But after the EC gave some closure, not as much as I would have preferred but oh well, I was finally able to start coming up with a head canon

I didn't like it either, only it was obvious that the three endings had very different consequences. With the EC we actually see what are those consequences. It was closure enough for me. As for Shepard: I always thought that his story would end with the reaper threat. So his death was never a surprise to me. The breath scene is a nice addition though. You can at least assume that he carries on with his life, probably in peace finally.

I just watched the ending. Wow was that bad.

The video game industry really needs to start hiring some real writers. I don't know what's been up with this year and bad game endings. I'm glad i've never been invested in the AC series, but i know how the fans must be feeling.

I think its more to do with "gritty realism" with all media.  I am pretty sure if there was an action tv series ending this year they would have the hero sacrifice themselves too.

There has to be a contest or something going on that we don't know lol

Lol All the gaming companies sat down and agreed they were going to troll the gaming community in the final installments in their franchises

It was a mistake obviously. They thought it would work. Well it didn't. That's why they created and released the EC which fixes it (yeah, certainly it does not please everybody's expectations, but fixes the ending we already had in the vanilla game).

I guess you had better go visit the Bioware offices and go kick all of the guys in the balls.

Now I understand why AC3's ending was making Ubisoft nervous (article here). They must've seen the backlash generated by ME3's ending and figured they were next.

"You don't have a responsibility to deliver what people want all the time," said Alex Hutchinson, Creative Director, of AC3's ending. I suppose that's true. However, be prepared for the consequences...:pinched:

I find it funny the OP is stating this before AC3 is even released.

Even assuming he is in Newfoundland, and that his town is doing a midnight release, he still will be unable to get it for another 4 hours and 16 minutes from now.
