^ Didn't work. I updated EA profile info exactly to what I entered for cc purchase, gave it 10 mins. No go.

Hmm, I'm out of options on my end. Obviously for security reasons I'm limited as to what I can actually view/edit/handle. Engineers only get a top level view, we can't even view the payment details.
Customer Service has the ability to drill down a bit deeper, at this point I think thats your best option. I can't think of any reason why this is still occurring to you jjkrogs. I'm certain this is an issue with the payment provider and not lockbox (points.bioware.com) itself. It could be some type of fraud prevention, or velocity checking. But that's all conjecture on my end.

Well I had no problem paying with my credit card for flights for example. Even though my billing address is different from my Ip-address. I guess I will have to wait until I am back in Germany end of December or better I try another method of payment....
P.S.: Weird that it seems IP-address country code, must fit the Billing-address country... don´t really get the point in that!?

the geolocation check is a fraud-prevention measure. it's just a feature that can be put in place by any vendor. The reason being, a vast majority of e-commerce fraud is done across international lines. This is becoming more and more prevalent as commerce starts migrating from in person, to phone, to internet as time goes on.

I just had a buddy with the game logon to my account on HIS computer and attempt to buy points, both with my card and a card of his own. Strangely, even with his card he received the same error. That seems to suggest an account problem, although coincidentally we both us IE8 with Vista. Why EA needs to compare my social site account to my credit card purchase doesn't sound necessary, but there you have it.

More importantly, how I would go about explaining this to EA's customer support team considering the other issues they're experiencing... I am not optimistic.

I have the same problem but the funny thing is I was able to buy bioware points TWICE for the same account, same info, etc, first time with visa then with master card. Then I tried to buy points a third time (using the same mastercard that worked before) and it rejected the transaction and now when I go back to buy points it won't work with the either the visa or the master card all with the same info that I entered previously. Paypal didn't work either, said error and now I have pending transactions...

send me your email you use to login
I'll take a look at the account tomorrow morning, However it may require Customer Supports help to clear any pending transactions with your bank. In the meantime, please stop trying to create any more invoices, as it will only take longer for them to resolve to a failed state.

I did send you the info right after I posted. As for pending transactions I meant the paypal transactions are pending not the cc ones. I can't get past the credit card verification stage to create those and I removed my cc from paypal so I don't get charged so those should fail

I tried changing the details to match but it didn't work as well. Quite depressing. DanKATL can you help me check the account for mismatch etc?
I really want the Warden's Tower thingy.

I got the same problem. The solution was to update my profile. My "Location" entry had been empty. After adding my country (Austria) the transaction was accepted.

All, before I get all your info, please note:
Your IP, your EA account, and your payment billing must all be in the same country. If any of those are mis-matched, the transaction can fail.
If you are positive that all of these match, then send me your login email and I can view your account but please note, I can't change anything myself, only Customer Support can do that.
