I was hoping to buy some points a few days in advance for Return to Ostagar. Well, my PayPal worked fine for buying points when I was in France, but now I'm in Ireland it's not working. The funny thing is, the billing address for my PayPal account is Irish. Mysterious!
The reason I'm trying PayPal now is that it worked once (buying points for Warden's Keep), whereas none of my cards have been accepted at all... Even the card associated with my PayPal account, in spite of the fact that I give the exact same address details! Oh, the confusion.

how could Bioware sell so many DLCs with so many people having problems buying them?
it s the first time i spend so much time desperately trying to buy something on the internet! why don t they just sell DLCs on Steam or another platform that works?
i m really fed up and i ll wait till they find a better solution!

I just tried with my visa for Wardens keep and kept getting the " card not varified " issue. Then I went to my Wells Fargo online account it it says Electronic Arts has just billed me $1.00 for trying two sperate times. I got nothing , no points but yet they got 2 dollars from me ??? What the hell !!!!!
And I am here in Southern California only about 250 miles away from Electronitc Arts !

i'm having same problem since yesterday - tried to buy points from the office network that uses german IP - got the error. I used same card details previously when buying points from home (using polish IP) and it worked fine. so it looks this problem is ongoing or 2 months now and EA didn't do anything?
i've posted a ticket to their tech support but got ''the usual'' reply: "double-check your details, if all ok - it's your bank's fault not ours". heh.

Yep, me too, I've been trying for a few days now. I'm somewhat relieved to see I'm not the only one with this issue.
Quick inquiry. While I'm playing Dragon age, I get a message saying I've timed out from accessing my online profile storage, or disconnected from the servers every like 5 minutes. Could this have anything to do with not being able to buy points?

This happened to me on Sony's site as well. If you're putting any information into the second address box, that seems to be the culprit (at least for me) Just put everything on the first address line. It could work for you.

How great to sell products you cannot even buy... and pay pal is a bit too complicated for the normal hack n slash barbarian... Seriously it would be about time they did something on this. I agree on stupidcowguy, i guess pirated torrents are the only true way to get what you want without beeing scammed. Outrageous i say.

I just gave up and made a PayPal account. Account verified I tried to get the point with PayPal and got this message:
The status of your invoice is invalid. Please check your Inbox and retry the purchase with the link provided or contact customer support regarding this account.
It's the first time I'm using PayPal so I think I'm doing something wrong here. Any PayPal veteran that can give me some insight?

Didn't work for my Visa Debit card (it runs like a credit card) so I just used PayPal to get some Bioware points for the upcoming DLC. Pretty annoying since I don't particularly like using PayPal but whatever - it worked fine that way.

Well, I went back to France and it works now, so I got my 400 Bioware points. Now all I need is the release of Return to Ostagar. ;-)

I, too, seem to be getting this problem... Only I was trying to use an American Express Pre-paid gift card. Tried getting BioWare points for Return to Ostagar and Warden's Keep using the numbers on the front. It told me that the card could not be verified, so I tried using the 3 numbers on the back... got the same problem. Fortunately, it didn't seem to touch the funds on my card, but I do know that the card is valid (it shows that I bought it late last month on AMEX's site).
Personally, I suspect these errors are because the site doesn't like capitalizations. When I created this account, the site would not let me capitalize the first letter in my user name, nor would it register my game when I typed the registration code in caps. In both instances, I had to go lower case.

I am having a lot of problems buying points as well, I keep getting the "card can't be verified" message with my card and when I try a friends it says the card number isnt correct which isnt true. Not sure why I am bothering to post this as it seems, after reading this thread, that no one will have a solution for me anyway.

E-mailed support about the CC issue. Got the tradicional "check A/B/C/D and call your bank". Replied saying that I checked all info and called the bank, card was OK. The second response from support was: We are sorry RTO was delayed. What the $%@&! what does it have to do with the credit card issue?!?!

I have never had this much trouble during an attempt to give someone else my money. I set up a paypal account purely for this stuff, hopefully that will work but I suppose I won't know for few days =-\\.

Also having this problem bought one lot of points and now I can't buy anymore. Does Bioware not want my money?
Edit: Just flicked off an email to store support will wait and see what they say.

hah, gave up exchanging emails with support - pretty useless, only response I got is to double check location&address (like I haven't done this 100 times before) and check with my bank if my car is not locked (like I haven't explicitly stated twice in my mail i'm using the card on daily basis).
finally signed up to PayPal and bought points via PP using the same card - all ok. goddamn miracle.
This is clearly a problem on BioWare's site and is impacting many people. It's a shame they can't just admit it and say "we're working on this" - instead they blame cc providers or treat us like we're 5year olds who can't type in their address right.
...and when finally managed to get my f%$#& 400 points they delay RtO to date unknown. I just hope Awakening will be worth it's price. And that we won't have to buy it through BioWare's site

I too am having the same problem. Mine is a bit different though, and is the same as someone's problem on about page 2.
I was planning to get both Warden's Keep and The Stone Prisoner with my credit card, adding up to a total of 1760 points. you can get exactly that through 3 transactions. Managed to get 2 of the 3 transactions fine but on the third transaction i get that error. Clearly its something on Bioware's side so the solution does not lie with our banks.
Pick up the pieces Bioware and give us some information.

Wow, unbelievable that it's gone this long and still no word from the companies we're all trying to give money to. I gave up a while back and just check this thread once in a while to see if anything has improved and obviously not.
This is a poor way to treat your customers who are trying to give you more money. I will not be buying any DLC for this game even if you do fix the problem at this point and I'm sure that I am not the only one that feels this way. Bravo on the excellent customer support here.
I wouldn't have even cared if the problem could be fixed but at least some kind of acknowledgement of the issue instead of pawning it off on everyone else like it's their problem would have been the decent thing to do.

Same problem here. I managed to do 2 transactions but it fails on the 3rd.
I spoke via live chat to EA support and told them that many people on this forum are having this issue. Here's a copy of our converstaion. By the way none of their suggestions helped.
Hi, my name is Dylan. How may I help you? [06:12:39 PM]
Me: hi [06:12:54 PM]
I am having real problems trying to purchase bioware points for Dragon Age origins DLC through this website https://points.biowa...ockbox/checkout
I have used it successfully twice last night with my credit card but now
every time I use it is gives me the error message "Your Credit Card
could not be Verified". I have checked the knowledge base for this and made sure my billing address is correct and is less than 50 characters long. There is a growing number of people with the same problem on the bioware forums here http://social.biowar...9/index/81652/2
Any help would be appreciated. [06:13:09 PM]
Me: Also after speaking to the bank I believe there is no problem at my banks end [06:14:38 PM]
Dylan: What I would recommend is that you check the following:
Note:
This is a general list that can be a cause of such issues; hence, some
of these may appear irrelevant to your case, but still I am not
excluding anything.
1. All credit card information is listed exactly as it appears on the credit card.
2. The credit card expiration date has not passed. (The card is still valid.)
3. The address listed matches what the credit card company has on file. (This is where you receive bills.)
4.The credit card or bank card has a MasterCard, Visa, Discover, JCB or
American Express logo on the card. (Regular debit cards may not work.)
[06:14:35 PM]
Me: Ok thanks but the details I am using are exactly the
same as when i successfully purchased points two times last night and I
have tried also with my wifes card. Same problem. [06:16:58 PM]
Dylan: Could you please try using a different browser? [06:16:39 PM]
Me: Hi, I just tried with IE 8 and had exactly the same message. [06:21:47 PM]
Dylan: Please try clearing your browser cache and temporary files and then try again.
