I even tried with paysafecard but it told me:

Le code PIN saisi n’est pas admissible pour le paiement auprès de ce commerçant (type de carte 00053).

Anyone got the same problem?

It really looks like bioware don't like my money ,-)

Folks, it's been 4 months since I started this thread and the problem persists. Although I'm sure they WISH they could help, it's pretty clear they have no idea what the problem is OR the problem is too difficult/costly to rectify when compared to the small number (overall) who are affected.

It's a game of numbers. Cost vs benefit. It's business.

Oh my, I have some news to add to this whole thread.

Okay, I have been having the same runaround as all of the previous posts....for the past FOUR hours. Phoning my credit card company, phoning EA, going on Pay Pal, back to phoning my credit card company, AAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Anyway, I got some new information from my credit card company (Mastercard). They said my transactions were being denied because EA.com is considered a Gambling site and the purchases therefore were considered 'cash equivilant' transactions and that there is a daily limit (although she wouldn't tell me what it was) . Hope this makes sense to someone.......

I've used a second paysafecard and it worked, the first was a junior one so unallowed to buy 18+ stuff...it was quite funny to explain to the shopkeeper that i wanted to change it with a normal one for this reason. ,-)

Anyway, i hope it can help

Hi there folks.

Well, I'm not sure why I'm still considered a moderator, seeing as how I haven't worked for EA since the first week of November, but I can try to shed some light here.

The problem with the verification is not necessarily a BioWare/EA problem. Especially with users outside the US. Now EA does have some security anti-fraud policies in place, which I had outlined over and over again. But people like to ignore them, so if you read them and still don't understand them, please read them again.

Now, for those that it doesn't pertain to, I can reasonably say that the issue is most likely one of the many, many intermediary 3rd parties between you, EA/BioWare, and your banks. Take for instance the Netherlands. A user in the Netherlands has to input their info into the points.bioware.com site. This goes through no less than a half dozen hops before the transaction can be authorized, any one of which can shut it down for any of a thousand reasons.

Now I'm not saying the Lockbox codebase is perfect. and I'm not saying the BioWare social site code is perfect. What I am saying is that I helped design it, and I know the very, very few people that are left working on it. If it was a simple fix under the control of EA/BioWare, it would have been fixed shortly after launch. I haven't been "in the pit" for almost 5 months since EA laid me off, but I can promise you that if it was an issue that could be resolved in-house, and it was stopping revenue, it would have been fixed, trust me.

Therefore, I have to assume it is an issue with the credit card processors, clearing houses, intermediary banks, so on and so forth. I spent a year fighting fires with these people, and I can PROMISE you, that is a far more complex issue than you can imagine.

With that said, it isn't an excuse, it's just a truth. The continuing issues are not necessarily due to lazy developers at EA/BioWare, but more likely with 3rd and in some cases, even 4th party processors. As hard as it is to imagine, in a lot of cases, EA/BioWare is not a real "Big Fish" to these people, and as such minor issues, which this verification is in the grand scheme of things, just does not warrant action on their part.

Adding further complexity is the fact that EA can't just stand up and say "Ok, heck with this crap. we're going elsewhere with our business." That is an incredibly complex and EXPENSIVE prospect.

So, long story short, it's not that EA/BioWare doesn't want to help you. Trust me, I spent years working with these guys and gals. They do want to help you. They want your money. They want you to enjoy the product they funneled blood sweat and tears into. But they can't always fix everything.

Why so surprised? EA has been trying to reduce its customer base for years. First it was the use of DRM that punished paying customers and rewarded those who pirated. Now they are just taking the more direct approach of refusing their money.   Perhaps the head of EA is just trying to retire.

And yes, I too am a victim of this issue.

It finally worked for me when I tried again an hour later with the following differences:

1. I didnt have the game open, and

2. I used all capital letters in my suburb name

May have just been coincidence.

Interestingly, as I was writing this I got a call from my credit card company as a security check on a $5 transaction!! This may be part of the problem if EA is on a list of high usage for stolen cards. Not EA's fault there of course, its just because they sell a product that doesnt need to be physically delivered and therefore is harder to track down fraudsters. Mind you, Steam is in the same boat and I've never had a problem buying through them.

For days I've tried multiple cards that are good, with two different browsers ad a new totally clean installation of windows 7. All my stuff is US based. Can someone please help?

Do a Google Search for "The credit card could not be verified" and you find see a mind boggling number of hits that are mostly involved with EA, over several different games. I can use these cards other places without issue. I just recently used one of them on Steam and it was fine. It has something to do with EA.

Please fix it, I'd like to be able to play the game again, but I've ran out of things to do so I'd like to buy more of the DLC. And I'm not going to buy the expansion until I have the DLC.

Hey guys - I just got my points purchased, but I had to call EA to get it done. You'll have to give them the e-mail address associated with your EA account, and your credit card info but they'll do it for ya. After the representative put it through I refreshed the page and it shows I have the points available.

Good luck!

This is really frustrating. I have tried so many ways and so many types of cards over the past months since buying Dragonage, and bioware always fails to verify or validate my card. They tell me it is my bank's fault: But my visa netsafe account clearly shows merchant ID as EA.com, and it is EA.com's failure to charge, not my banks fault. From the part of my bank transaction has been carried out and it falls on EA to charge the visa card, which EA will not do.

Long chats with support end up in another "unresolved" question in my account, and then without sorting the problem EA sends me a customer survey to fill in asking me how I like their service.

Last time I made such a complaint, which is still unresolved as far as facts are considered, I received a mail from social bioware that gave a link to contact in case of payment problems. The link always brought me back to the page from where I started. The signal is clear, keep going in circles. We don't care about individual customers.

i get the same problems guys. i also keep getting charged 1 dollar when i try again. they are taking my money, and refusing to fix verification problem. since they are taking money while doing this, and not fixing the problem maybe we should sue them. if they were not taking my money while not fixing the problem it would not be so bad, but hey, somehow they keep getting richer while not providing the promised service.

EA's E-Mail Tech Support is so horrible that it boggles the mind. They respond back with completely irrelevant nonsense. They just send you back some copy and paste crap, they don't really read your message. They get the jist of the problem then follow their copy and paste procedure. I wrote them and told them I quadruple checked all my information was 100% accurately entered and I tried with multiple cards, so they write back "make sure the information is entered correctly."

Really?

No, really. Are you serious, are you really that stupid?

Sigh. Just call them on the phone, it's not quite as easy to dismiss someone on the phone as it is through E-Mail.
