Dragon Age Quest: Master's Desire
A brand new stand-alone adventure where the world is filled with interactive objects that you can explore and use to progress the story. This, however, doesn't mean you'll get to just prance around, for there are dangers lurking about...

Features
 - aprx. 2 hours of playtime
 - Fully voiced
 - 4 new skills
 - 20+ cinematics
 - Contains some mature themes

Trailer

Walkthrough

Install

Use the DAUpdater to install
(DAModder doesn't install this add-in correctly)

Uninstall
Remove the following directory:
/My Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/AddIns/DQuest -folder
Or use DAModder to uninstall

DAQuest is not buggy, but if you can't get out of the first room, the likely culprit for this is some other installed mod, thus you need to uninstall the offending add-in before playing DAQuest.

Project's page & download can be found from

Updated to version 1.10 and for those who are interested, the source-code has been released and can be found form the project's homepage. Make sure you know what you are doing before downloading the builder to builder package, though.

This is great, but I'm really really stuck right at the end with no clue as to what I'm meant to do. Things seem to be happening as they should because of the ambient dialogue. Guess I'm either being stupid or there's a bug there somewhere (maybe I broke itn :P). Still, having a solution somewhere would be good. Eventually someone's going to post one, probably not even on these boards, so it's not going to be a great loss, and people who like this sort of thing wouldn't use it unless they really needed to.

Generally though, this could really do with some voice acting! I'll send you some samples myself, but there's always other people around here who are good at that sort of thing. Try having a look here.

Also there are a fair few grammatical and spelling errors which a propper proof-read should help with. You'd do that automatically when sorting out the voice acting, though, which is another reason to get it done :P

Just some suggestions. overall, I'm impressed.

Thanks and glad you liked the adventure! Drop me a private message if you want a more detailed solve for the problem, or if you indeed managed to break it. If, however, everyone is only speaking in ambient dialogues, then all you need to do is to go meet the Evil Nemesis™ in its chambers. Through the door, not through the cave-in.

You can find some hastily written solve from the forums over here:

http://www.dragonage...file.php?id=567

I know about the voice acting all too well, and perhaps I'll tackle that problem at one point, but seeing you are the first one to mention it, I'm not too eager to start coordinating and working on that just yet. Maybe one day, definitely not ruling it out.

And I also know about the grammatical problems. Or rather, I know there are such, but haven't spotted them with my hasty reading tactics. Wouldn't say no to a list of biggest mistakes *wink*

Wierdly, it says it's a torrent why I try to download it. Once downloaded, I renamed it to a Dazip and used DAUpdater to install it. It works so far! :)

Fully voiced version 2.0 has been released!

Have to say - adding the voice actors was an education task. I recommend wholeheartily for everyone to try. You might think it's just a simple task of adding few .wav files, but you actually have to tweak bodylanguage to match the speech. Nods, hand swings and weightshifts. And on top of that, if the voice doesn't match the face, you need to fix the character's looks to work with the voice. Of course there's also the voice actor directing and quality control...

As DAQuest was created also as an example of my design-skills, I've added the small document on the files-section called "Post Mortem Design Document". It tells some of the reasons why things were done the way they were, etc. If you are interested in knowing more, feel free to check it out.

A walkthrough, courtesy of Stonos22, is now available:

It demonstrates nicely how different DAQuest is from the main game, for those who don't want to uninstall all their custom mods to play it.
