Because when the Omega System makes its glorious return in about 30 days, they'll be the only plot-critical systems from the entire trilogy not to be included in ME3. The Pangaea Expanse and Sentry Omega Systems in particular, given how both are the locations of events that have huge effects for all three games. And, when one thinks about it, the Pangaea Expanse is
very close to Omega, when one compares ME2's Galaxy Map to ME1's.
Heck, even if they only return for a War Asset form each of the three key worlds, it would still be a nice swansong.
I know that the Maroon Sea and Styx Theta clusters also don't return in ME3, but they were only good for a few obscure assignments in ME1.
