Logic is not based on 7/8 it is based on taking the 8 highest children and taking the average to determine if it should show up as "unlocked" since technically you are at 100% for 8 the system states it is unlocked. But when survivor is completed it isnt incrementing the number to be 8/8 (the issue as it was)

It would seem that you're correct, given there are probably only a few of us at the moment that the 'Squad Elite" glitch prevents from unlocking the "Mass Effect' banner. I'd venture to say there are many people out there who have completed all the requirements for 'Squad Elite,' and can't unlock it, but it doesn't prevent them from getting the main banner.

I understand that glitches happen, but in the narrow scope of this game and the even narrower scope of the challenge system; this seems like a pretty big one. The two things I find more than a little puzzling are:

1) Why focus on fixing the glitches in the Cerberus, Geth, Collector, Reaper and Combat Mastery challenges, which are only glitched after they've been completed once, before fixing the glitch in 'Squad Elite' which prevents that challenge from being unlocked the first time; thusly preventing some of us from being able to unlock the 'Mass Effect' banner.

2) If they add new sub-challenges when they release a new character, (e.g. "Added a Batarian Brawler challenge to Blood Pack Mastery,") why can't/won't they add a completable sub-challenge to the 'Squad Elite' challenge to allow us to unlock that banner. Since the challenge system was introduced there have been 3 balance changes, which would have given them the perfect opportunity to do so.

I believe a lot of players are like me; purposely holding off on completing Squad Elite until it's officially fixed. I'm only missing a dozen Platinum extractions, but since I knew it wouldn't matter I did the other challenges instead because they aren't as team-dependent (for me).

The actual number of people directly prevented from getting Mass Effect is a lot larger than the number of people who went ahead and got the glitched Squad Elite if my behavior is anything to judge by. I certainly believe this to be the case from talking to people on my Origin list.

In short: Fix it. Add a new challenge, or even reset the survival medals completely, it wouldn't be that much of a bother to simply do it again (I believe most people who are in this predicament agree). Many more people are affected by this than the ones who actually went ahead and got the glitched banner.

I would certainly agree with your assessment, which is why I've taken to posting on this board for the first time ever; only after this glitch became and issue. I don't know what technically is involved, but it seems like adding a completable challenge to 'Squad Elite,' would be the simplest fix. I can't speak for anyone else who's contacted a Dev directly, but the two responses I received seem inadequate, so I've taken to posting on the boards.

From Monday October 29: "We are looking into this, at this time dont have a solution"

From Friday November 3: "No eta no, sorry"

I'd be very curious the hear what others in our position have been told, or better still have a Dev provide a detailed answer to what is delaying a fix on this board.

And congrats to all those who would have already gotten, or are purposefully putting off getting the 'Mass Effect' banner.

Too noticed a bug with «Squad Elite».
I while executed only 5 of 8 tasks, but already I see a bug: it is really included only 4.

I'm done with the challenges. Those 200 waves were such a grind. Every level from gold on down feels way too easy. I'll be off playing other things and will check in from time to time to see if they've fixed it.

EDIT: Ok maybe not, I should have 3/8 not 2/8, maybe that's the one not being counted after all.

I just read this threat and checked my Squad Elite status. I should have 5/8 (Survival Medals I assume not registering) and only show 4/8 eben though it shows I have 100 medals completed. Guess it affects everyone.

I was just guessing, since BW gave no ETA for a fix.  The last DLC was a big release, and there were some last minute challenge bugs to squash.  I'd assume whoever worked on it needed a vacation.

Ah I see, well you could very well be right as it seems like it would be fairly simple to fix, but then again what do I know <_<

I suspect that if there isn't a fix in today or tomorrow's balance changes then they'll just let it go and it will take 6 weekend events to unlock 'Squad Elite' instead of 3. Getting the 'Mass Effect' banner takes a lot of time and effort (i.e. grinding,) as we all know, and it somehow diminishes the work we put in to get it as soon as the 3rd weekend event started if we have to wait to get it with people who took 3 weeks longer than we did to complete the other required challenges.

I understand glitches happen, and am sympathetic to that. The complete and utter lack of information, and updates on progress is what I find completely unacceptable. They essentially created and released a maze with no exit; the least they could do is keep us informed of the progress they're making, or if they're even attempting to fix it.

Of course not, what were you thinking? You have to consider the logic you're dealing with. "Make this thread because you're being 'annoyed' by too many PM's, then don't update the thread for 3 days and counting." That's the kind of of logic required.

It's the same kind of logic that was used to give priority to fixing a glitch that only prevented challenges from being completed more than one time, over 1 glitch that prevents 2 challenges from being completed at all.

With all due respect, I could say the same to you. 'No Sorry,' is a bit lacking when there are at least 10 people that I know of who are being kept from unlocking the 'Mass Effect' banner because of the glitch with the 'Survival Medals.' I can assure you, as I am one of those people, many, many hours went into completing the requirements to unlock that banner. And therefore updates consisting of more than 'no sorry,' doesn't seem like an unreasonable expectation to me.

An update consisting of answers to any, and ideally all of the following questions would be appreciated, and I believe, warranted:

1) What is preventing the survival medals glitch from being fixed?
 
2) What is preventing you from adding another challenge to 'Squad Elite,' which is completable to enable it to unlock that and for some the 'Mass Effect' banner? Since sub-challenges, (children?) have been added in every ballance change, including tomorrow's, what prevents you from adding one to Squad Elite?

3) Are you even working on a fix at all, or are you just going to let it go and make it take 6 weekend events to unlock 'Squad Elite?'

4) If you are working on a fix, what is preventing you from giving an ETA for that fix? With the 'E' in ETA standing for 'Estimated,' I don't think anyone, including myself would hold it against you if it wasn't exact.

Taking a few minutes of your time to answer any or all of these questions will foster much more good will from the players who are having this glitch prevent them from unlocking the main banner. I can assure you it will foster more good will than, 'No Sorry.'

Was that constructive enough for ya?

Edit:    And I appologize if you don't like my inquiries, but you'll have to take that up with EA Customer/Technical support who said I had to contact someone from BioWare about this because although they'd like to fix it,, they were technically unable to do so. So since you posted messages on this board about this issue, you were the person from BioWare I contacted; as EA instructed I do. I only started to post on this thread when you requested that people do so instead of sending you PM's.
