Until today I never gave Marksman a chance, thinking that a brief accuracy/ROF bonus wasn't very appealing.

But I tried the original Turian solider today, and I was blown away. Marksman, paired with the Turian Veteran stability and damage bonuses, is incredible. I used it with a lot of weapons, but the GPS X is my favorite to use on this class. All this, with Proxy mine debuffs, rips everything to shreds.
I'm sure this is old news to many of you, but I want to say that I have seen the light of the original Turian Soldier. The Havoc has nothing on him in my opinion.

I'd say the Havoc has two things on the old school Turian Soldier. Mobility and durability. You can't argue that. His damage isn't as good, but he moves better, and thanks to Stim Pack can survive situations that the old Turian Soldier can't.

But yeah, especially with the new buffs to his passive, the Turian Soldier and Marksman deal sooooo much damage.

Yeah, and when we get the Quarian Marksman, its going to get even better. Tac Scan will give you another 32.5% weapon damage and another 25% headshot buff.

So.......
22% weapon damage from passive
32.5% weapon damage from Tac Scan
50% rate of fire from Marksman
25% headshot damage from passive
then multiply all that damage by another 50% for the two multiplicative headshot damage bonuses from Tac Scan and Marksman and people will be screaminf nerf within 3 days of his release.

Turian with a Talon is teh lolz. If you take the Extended Clip with some AP ammo you pretty much never have to stop firing. And its accuracy is almost sniper-like, even without the scope.

Yeah, you're right about the Havoc in those two areas. I was talking more along the lines of DPS. Of course I'm sure someone can find a way to out-DPS the old Turian but I don't care, I love 'im. Lol

Accuracy bonuses usually make all three pellets hit, and RoF lets you spam your shots super fast. More DPS than charging each shot if you use extended mags I think.

Marksman is one of my all time favorite power. with the return of the boss headshot, the rank 5 hs evolution of it and the latest turian headshot buff, along with the weapon damage buff, the turian soldier is a beast.
marksman is the only power that makes me use the harrier (i'm not fond of it) even if i have to stand next to an ammo box in the whole time (and basically this is the reason i don't like harrier) because it literally melts everything and anything.

And the reason that Sirian asked why you'd use the GPS with the Turian Marksman is because it cannot get headshot damage. The Marksman HS damage buff (rank 5) is a multiplicative bonus, meaning after all your damage modifiers are added up, multiply that by 1.25 and you have the total damage from the headshot. This makes a gun like the Hornet more lethal than all but a couple ARs and SRs on a different class, and makes those weapons unbelievable. Also allows you to use shotguns as a sniper rifle since the 8 pellet shots basically bypass shieldgate.

I hate marksman with passion. I consistently perform better on tsol when I spec out of it entirely. CS might be less than stellar, but it has its uses and only locks my proxy mine for like 1.5 seconds as opposed tonlike 10....

I just played with you about two hours ago. Fun easy games... until I lost connection on Reactor :\\.

It was a little strange seeing a Turian soldier with that gun but all ended well.

One thing about it, I doubt he is getting a stability bonus in his passive tree.
You're going need to think ahead with that 50% RoF Bonus.
When he comes out I'ma try a Claymore out on him first:D.

The bonus is 31.25% actually.

Besides headshots, the problem with using the GPS with the TSo is that it can utilise its charge-to-instant fire mechanic to shoot faster than normal, making marksman ROF bonus somewhat redundant. The GPS is already homing and that makes accuracy bonuses useless. The turian stability passives are pointless because recoil is a non-issue with the GPS. It makes much more sense to use it on a HSo instead.

I skip marksman. Too many 'oh no, not again' when using marksman and suddenly a pair of dragoons sneak up on you.

It's bugged in all cases. The only things which may be bugged on bosses are the cranial trauma system mod for heavy pistols and the marksman headshot bonus.

Speaking of Marksman - while doing my challenges I came across a strange thing. When I equip the Phaeston along with a Tempest somehow the Marksman RoF Bonus is only applied when I reload one of the guns. It's really audible that when you activate Marksman the RoF does not change, only once you reload. I did not observe this with any other weapon combination. Has anyone had the same happen?
