Speaking of Marksman - while doing my challenges I came across a strange thing. When I equip the Phaeston along with a Tempest somehow the Marksman RoF Bonus is only applied when I reload one of the guns. It's really audible that when you activate Marksman the RoF does not change, only once you reload. I did not observe this with any other weapon combination. Has anyone had the same happen?

No but something similar. With Avenger and Collector assault rifle you have to stop firing for a second or so for MM to kick in. Very annoying.

It could be because you activated MM while firing the gun (thus it reloads the clip and just continues with what the rate of fire was). Its no biggie so long as you are aware of it.

I'm pretty sure it happened all the time, whether I stopped firing beforehand or activated it while firing. But I'll check fr it the next time I use it.

it's really lame that shooting must be stopped for a moment to kick marksman in, but it's a minor issue.

now that the marksman autoreloads weapons, should find the perfect weapon loadout. for me a revenant with ext. mag. is perfect (without marksman rank 5 duration evo, i always liked better the headshot damage bonus). when the revenant is empty, the duration with the CD is just over. spray of death.

I got my SMG mastery in only 21 games, just using marksman.

I love the GPS.. but why would you use it on a T Sol...?

Accuracy bonuses usually make all three pellets hit, and RoF lets you spam your shots super fast. More DPS than charging each shot if you use extended mags I think.

The GPS is not affected by any of the accuracy bonuses. If you aim it at an enemy with his name and health displaying then all 3 pellets will home in on the target.
If you want to make good use of a shotgun with marksman then I suggest not going past the 50% accuracy bonus and put a smart choke on your shotgun of choice. You'll see what I mean when you try

I used marksman with the Incisor, just to get through the sniper challenge. Made a seriously under-powered rifle bearable :)

TuSo is a headshot machine with a scoped Hurricane. You might need a stability mod (either as a consumable or on the gun) to assist the passive, but it's still very effective (and fun).

(protip: add drill rounds to this combo for cross-map behind-cover headshot sniping)

Use the Striker with Incendiary Ammo.
Killstreaks. Killstreaks everywhere.

I have been thinking of trying the striker with him.  I've used the harrier and hurricane, both with very good success.

Old type turian soldier and sent have the reach, new type commandos have the flexibility.

TSo w/ Pirahna is just.. lol. I like being able to 'snipe' w/ one of the least accurate guns in the game.

The TGI may be new and shiny and all the rage of the forums lately, but the TSo has always had great dps w/ quite a few number of guns.

Until today I never gave Marksman a chance, thinking that a brief accuracy/ROF bonus wasn't very appealing.

But I tried the original Turian solider today, and I was blown away. Marksman, paired with the Turian Veteran stability and damage bonuses, is incredible. I used it with a lot of weapons, but the GPS X is my favorite to use on this class. All this, with Proxy mine debuffs, rips everything to shreds.
I'm sure this is old news to many of you, but I want to say that I have seen the light of the original Turian Soldier. The Havoc has nothing on him in my opinion.

hurricane with the AP mod and thermal clip mod (the 45% chance one not the magazine) on a turian soldier is an amazing boss killer. not to mention the built in 5% stability with a stability 3 makes it a sniper rifle

Thanks but wait, you are basically saying there are no reasons to choose it over the other evo...

I think that's the case. The tests done by peddro/corlist showed that Tactical Scan headshot bonus is non-functional.
Also Marksman headshot bonus doesn't work on Bosses.

Could the Marksman/Cranial Trauma Mod not working on boss heads be WAD?

I like to slap on the Viper sometimes to help with armor, it's light and it's RoF is pretty terrible on its own. And I usually have an SMG for a primary to make use of my abundance of SMG amps.

The quarian soldier is the character I'm most looking forward to (though I wish it were a salarian) because of Marksman.

Working as designed? Most likely. I would imagine they didn't want to make it too powerful.

Figured as much. That then begs the question if the VI gear/consumable works on them or not. At the very least, the Turians' bigger bonus to headshots will help them retain an edge over the Quarian.
