Hi, so Ive completed all three games several times on my pc, and this issue has never ocurred before. It didnt hapen after the EC patch, nor after Leviathan was released. However when I started on my 3rd playtrough of ME3 a few weeks back it started happening. This has really reduced my enjoyment of a game I love, and its really frustrating :(. Please help/give advice/solutions if you think you can help me out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So heres what happens: Whenever there are cinematics ocurring in game, it freezes for a second or two every 3-8 seconds or so. This is especially noticable in some of the longer scenes, like the curing genophage, geth/Quarian battles, and not to say the least ending, but it happens in just about every single one of them.

Detailed description of problem:
The ending in particular gets quite buggy. Sometimes in transicions between cinematics and say the cockpit of the SR2, the game suddenly freezes and I see an all black shepard next to my own (with no textures). Also after choosing an ending the game freezes permanently between cinematic transicions. When I reload the game and load the autosave, the same happens again, only a little further on this time. And when I say freeze I mean it jumps back to Shepard still standing there in front of his chosen ending, with weird graphic glitches around him. So in order for me to watch a complete ending I have to reload the game about 4 times. Also when the images starts emerging (the EC ones), they dont appear, only whoevers voice is heard/seen. So I have to reload the game again, (4th time usually), in order to see the entire ending, having to watch parts of it multiple times.

Note
that the game itself only freezes once or twice, for a second or two
every hour or so. So my problem doesnt effect the gameplay itself. My
framerate in game is just fine, and the game itself runs smoothly.
However as said the cinematics generally are at 30 fps when working,
before suddenly dropping to 2-10, when it stutters, which it does every 3-6 seconds.

As said this only started occuring a couple of weeks ago, Ive never had this problem before.

Heres what Ive already tried to resolve the problem:

 - Ive updated my graphics card driver (twice just to make sure)
 - Whitelisted (allowed origin and ME3 access in my norton antivirus)
 - Turning vertical sync completely off (this is my setting at the moment)
 - Turning vertical sync on, (also tried with setting tripple buffering on)
 - disabled origin in game (I never access it ingame anyway)
 - disconnecting from the internet
 - exiting all processes in task manager that I dont need (I dont have any programs running in the background, so these are minor ones)

 - restarting my computer and the game
 - removed dust from my computer
 - And probably a few minor things that Ive forgotten

Here are my specs, or atleast the ones I know of/deem relevant:
Computer: ASUS G73J
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Processor: Intel core i7 CPU Q 720 @ 1.60 GHz (its says Ive got 8 of them )
Graphics card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870

If I should give more info on my system please tell me what and how to find it. Please help me.

EDIT: This problem also happens when I play a blu ray movie, and sometimes on youtube videos as well, so its not only an ME3 issue. I could still need some help though. Any theories as to what may have happened?
EDIT end.

BTW this is not an overheating issue
Its not an overheating issue. Ive had stuttering issues with both ME2 and ME3 before, usually every 4-6
months. But when that has happened, it effected the game itself as well, and then my computer usually turns itself off. But I removed all the dust yesterday just in case, so it cant be the cause, as Im still having the same problems. Also the temperature of the pc is quite low.

Short version. My cinematics in game stutter, it drops to to 5-11 fps for a couple of seconds, before returning to 30, as per usual. My in game fps is perfectly smooth ranging from 54 ish to 80+. As said this has never been a problem before, even after EC. Please help its really screwing up my enjoyment of the game. Also the ending is really buggy, see above. When the game freezes as described above, the scenes that are not shown then shows up later on, in random order. The transicisons between different cinematics are really buggy. For instance my shepard breathing was shown after the man and boy on the planet. (Sound had already been played during a freeze).

I had a problem with the bink videos, pre-rendered cinematic videos, not playing correctly once. This was corrected by using the repair install option in the origin client.

Not exactly what you are describing, but it may help.

If there's big FPS drops, have you defragged your hard drive recently? I remember other games that I played on a hard drive would have FPS drops if the hard drive was heavily fragmented.

If you don't have a 3rd party defrag program, you can use the default Windows 7 defrag program:

Click on the start menu and go to All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter.

Select the disk which has Mass Effect 3 installed on it (eg. for me that would be the E:\\ drive, but for you it could be different). Click on Defragment Disk, and let it run. If it doesn't get everything the first time, you may have to run it a few times. Not every defrag program gets everything in one pass. Sometimes you'll have to do it a few times.

Another thing you might want to do (wasn't mentioned in your post), is to run a anti-spyware program, such as SuperAntiSpyware or MalwareBytes AntiMalware once and it should also speed things up.

Nope it didnt work, but thanks. It seems to be a runtime issue with my ati card. And by that I mean video. When I go into basic video settings in Catalyst control center, I get an error message saying runtime error, and the example video drops to 2 fps. I think this is the issue in game, and with other videos.

However I dont know how to fix this. Any suggestions?
