Ok,

This just happened yesterday, when I tried ME after upgrading it to origin (sort of). The problem has to do with the background sound effects, that are incredibly strident/loud. There is no way to lower the noise either. If I lower the sound effects bar to 1 for example, I barely hear my gun shooting, but I keep hearing the strident background sound effects. If I lower the bar to 0, then the problem is solved, but in that case I don't hear anything at all!

I deleted the game and reinstalled with the origin client but the issue remains.

Any way to solve this?

Fix't. Just turn off hardware sound option
