Do you hear anyone talking about Tuchanka? No. Because it was stellar. The blessing cure . The hideous bretayal. Talking to Garrus about it: ..."Damn war...".
Perfect.
"Does This Unit have a Soul?"
Sublime.
We talk little about this because it's almost perfect in every aspect. The setting, the pace...almost everything comes up together to form beautiful storytelling.
But in the middle of the sea of bliss, there are sour notes
Cerberus coup d'etat. Nonsensical at best
Kai Leng. He's not anti-Shepard. He's anti-nothing. Bland, uninteresting foe. The final bout against him is pathetic. Why he smashes the ground providing us cover?? Wouldn't be much more interesting if he fought like a Hellish Phantom, coming close for the kill? Imagine this: first phase, he closes the room with a bunch of mooks. Kill them all. Second phase: He blocks your squadmates somehow. It's you and him, alone: Third phase: injured, he manages to negate your weapons use. It's just melee and heavy melee, close and personal. LotSB showed they know how to do interesting boss fights. But now they are too video-gamey.
I'm not even talking about the endings. This game could be more, much more than it is. It's disappointing.
