At least a good news:
Kotobukiya is remaking Commander Shepard ARTFX from scratch, after that failed one. Hope to see the new one soon, since it will release Q3 2013.
And the next Bishoujo should be revealed next month, at most when Shepard Bishoujo release in april.

While not actually relevant to the topic at hand, here you go:

Ooo, very nice! Dramatic lighting. I'm thinking we may not see anything until tomorrow (local time), the first day it's usually the big manufacturers.
And now, Tali'Zorah Vas Aperture:
I'm sorry, I know this is off topic, but where did you get that little portal gun?

The gun is included with the Portal 2 Chell figure from NECA:

She's seven inches tall, roughly, so the scale is close enough to work.

I've decided on getting the whole Play Arts line - femshep, garrus, tali, ashley. Faces could look a lot better, but through some vids/review pics femshep and ash actually look a little better than the box/store shots. Garrus' face is all shot up but I might paint over the black freckles and might even fill in his "pores." At least Tali look ok all-around, but it's hard to mess up a beg helmet.
We really need to send feedback to keep it going, whether or not it's selling bad or good.

Did SE struck a deal with DC? Geez, lot DC stuff announced. I haven't known the company that long, but it looks to me like their steadily focussing more on non-game franchises, or am I reading too much into this?
They are getting outside of gaming with a few pieces, but 90% of DC figures they released so far are from games (Arkhan Asylum and City, Injustice etc...)
The other 10% are from Dark Knight Returns.
The other figure i remember not being from a game is the Starship Troopers one.

And obviously all the Dark Knight trilogy figures...
There's plenty of other ME3 merch still being planned and released overall, so I'd wager this is not a momentum thing...

The only thing I would suggest is that if you want to see it continue, support the line. Buy them from the Bioware Store, if there are any you're on the fence about. I'll do the same, because I still need Ashley and Manshep.

Wave 2, my fiancee got me for xmas, so I had no control over that.
But yeah, quibbles aside, I love these figures. Building a home theater add on to my house this summer and I want to set them all up in a glass case - have a little Mass Effect corner.
Hoping for many, many more of 'em and you make some good points, sir. Fingers crossed!

By the way, to the more experienced customisers (although those interested in this idea probably thought of this themselves already): I think you could get a pretty awesome Kasumi or perhaps Miranda out of PAK Arkham City Catwoman... Especially in Kasumi's case I think you get get pretty far with paint and finding a hood somewhere alone. She'd be a bit tall, but it could work, just as a friendly tip.
I feel kinda lucky my main squad happened to be among the five released so far, but damnit, is there no way to ascertain whether the line is still alive or not...? Not knowing whether to hope or not bugs me out.

But it would be nice to receive confirmation - one way or the other - that Play Arts Kai will make more.

As an aside - what is with them doing Ashley and not Kaidan?? Surely the one goes hand in hand with the other. I hope we're not getting into sexist territory here........

To be frank, I can't believe they went and made the Shepard models in the first/second wave. I mean - everybody's Shepard's look different - so why would anyone want to own the game-cover mannequins?? It would have been FAR better to not bother with Shepard, and instead do Liara, Kaidan etc.

I don't think we are, I think we're heading into business territory. And business strategies can change, even if we don't know whether it has or not. That and Ash surviving is actually the default storyline (it's what players get when they're not importing a game).
The problem is that there are two default Shepards (and I actually do like both of them). ME isn't entirely like KOTOR was, they have made canon appearances, whether the facemorphers like it or not...
I think the best criticsm would be: why not add a helmet(head)!?!?!
I can dig your argument to want team mates more than Shepard him/herself, I'd probably go that route too if there were more team mates. But from a more general and commercial perspective I do get they chose to release Shepard. I'm just glad they released the femshep too for her fans.
Still, just one guy at Toy Fair saying "Oh Mass Effect? Well, that line is/isn't canceled (yet)." Would that have been so problematic? Hasn't anyone there asked them that!?

Lots of people play the default Shepard, like me!
And with the first series, you need Shepard and you need Vakarian. My guess is that they chose Ashley to avoid the very thing you're accusing them of, and to keep things diverse. With series two, I think they were trying to appease the massive Femshep following. Possibly with urgings from Bioware? I know that they give creative input, I don't know how hands on licensors are with this type of stuff. I would assume they have someone at Bioware that they collaborate with or at least get assets from, and that same person could tell us if the line is going to continue.
I'd happily buy them a pizza to come out of the wood work and let us know.
