One New Star Wars Film Every Two To Three Years
Posted By Dustin on October 30, 2012
I've been listening to the Disney shareholders meeting and just heard that we can expect to see one new Star Wars film every two to three years after the initial one is released in 2015!
Update: Also expect to see more Star Wars television!

Interesting. I wonder if if they'll do a film based in The Old Republic timeline?RedArmyShogun wrote...

Star Wars Land attractions and rides, let's go!
Disney already has Star Wars attractions in Disney World and an Indiana Jones ride in Disney Land.
Huh... this means Disney now owns Indiana Jones too? I'm really curious what they do with episode 7. New Star Wars movies without Lucas could be neat but keeping it to Episode 7 would imply keeping with Luke and all that baggage. Why not break out and do an Old Republic story or something divorced from all that?

The less direct control Lucas has the better.

Don't see all the cause for panic.

On the other hand: Disney hasn't had the property for ten seconds without announcing a new movie with a release date without a story, director, writer, script, setting, or anything else. Which seems like putting the cart before the horse.

This.
While there is crap in the EU (like in praticularly the young Jedi series and the Naga) there are some gems like Dark Empire, Thrawn triology and to an extent the Vong War. So theres plenty of freash blood. I doubt we will see any Kotor Era-ish movies at all. The prequels weren't that well loved, going back more is an..."ehhh" type deal, though the Mandalorian Wars would be a neat thing to watch from there. Revan and the Mando's. No pesky game canon to deal with.
However those older ones might make good TV shows.

Avengers 2 and Star Wars 7? Yeah. It'll be a great year for them.

Getting George Lucas, the worst dialogue writer of all time, out of the way can only be a good thing. After the prequels literally anyone could do better, even dead people and fan fic writers.
