No Thrawn Trilogy adaptation. Star Wars 7 plot will be "an Original Story" says Lucasfilm Source.

I hope they don't continue the films on the point in the Star Wars timeline where they're like "get ALL the Emperor clones" because that would be just plain boring.

Bring on Revan and the Exile.

If they take the Revan book from continuity, I´m all for it.

As has been said before, I am glad that Lucas is still having some involvement in the production, so the story doesn't veer off too much. However, as he is only creative director, the film production can be left to someone with better film-directing/writing/producing qualities.

I wonder who Disney will choose to direct the first one? Peter Jackson, Neill Blomkamp and Guillermo Del Toro would all be great choices IMO.

No, Peter Jackson no. I don´t want to have the main characters acting retarded so there´s a bit more of pointless dramatic tension. GDT would be interesting. And please don´t let Michael Bay or Ridley Scott anywhere near this.

I agree the Del Toro would be interesting for Star Wars and yes, if Michael Bay directed it, film would be "Coruscant explodes, the Empire explodes, C3P0 explodes, Han Solo explodes...".

Given that Lucas had recently done a 180 and started editing prior films, something he once said he'd never do or condone, I'm kinda glad someone else is taking up the reigns. Way back in the day it was Lucas' plan to produce 9 films, but time and age got the better of him.

Will be interesting to see how they portray Leia, Luke and Han, three big characters who survived Episode 6, and whose actors are looking more like Grand Mof Tarkin nowadays.

Don't be dumb, Braindead was an awesome movie and Star Wars by Peter Jackson would be too.  And if you don't want Michael Bay or Ridley Scott, would you prefer Uwe Boll?

Only seen LotR, Fellowship was great, but the other 2 far from it. For what I know of that film, Braindead is not what I´d like to see in SW. And considering Prometheus, I´d almost take Boll before Scott.

Michael Bay getting a hold of lucasfilms would be the worst.

Too bad Joss Whedon is busy with the sequel to The Avengers.

^ This :unsure::sick:

Still, if they must do this then I can see Peter Jackson doing a good job. I just hope that the Star Wars movies they make are much better than the recent ones.

I managed to compose myself, and now I think if they set a new trilogy in the Old Republic setting this could be good. Maybe set in the Mandalorian Wars..

I enjoyed the prequels and the sequels both for different raisins thus I'm pretty optimistic of the turnout that the new Star Wars movies will make.

You gotta love the classic Vader and whatnot. Honestly that film that was ahead of it's time.
And
You also gotta love the amazing special effects and make up of General Grievous and the epic battles.

Disney isn't so bad with all the movies they've made in the past. Although I believe that they're better at making animated movies, but that's just my personal opinion.

Only time will tell.

But I MUCH prefer the books.

Let´s face it. There´s no way Hollywood would greenlight a faithful adaptation of that book. I´d almost ask Lucas first to finance it with what he got from the deal. He already paid for a Kurosawa film after all.

I don't know, I could be marginally impressed by a Red White and Blue lightsabre.

Bad news bears...bad news bears haha.

I don't know. The Avengers was entertaining, but its not a movie I would be interested in watching again anytime soon, but I have seen the original Star Wars films twice.

This is bad news though in general. The more conglomerization (sp?) there is, the worse it is general. It looks like the new Iron Man movie is just trying to be like The Dark Knight Rises...and I already saw that movie.

How would they even go about making this new trilogy? All I will say is that the plot better be solid and super good. However, I suspect that it will probably have lots of flashy saber battles like in the prequals, as opposed to that solitary and suspenseful first fight between Luke and Vader in the first one. Yup...they are going to be better then the prequals, but that is not saying much either though.

Every director has ups and downs with films. Thus you cannot implicate the assumption that just because one film they made didn't exceed your expectations that the rest of them are gonna fail.

I personally feel that if Peter Jackson or Ridley Scott directed SW that it would be pretty interesting and damn good to see. I love them both, but we all have different preferences thus I respect your opinion.

(Also there was nothing wrong with Prometheus. It's one of those science fiction films that makes us think and for people that don't like to think, it is annoying.)

The star-wars sequels looked like low budget trash with horrendous sound and special effects. From the prequels onward they can (and have) only get better.

It's been pointed out to me, and now I'm sharing with y'all this simple fact: Princess Leia is now a Disney Princess.
