I just wonder if Merrill get killed (And that isn´t easy) Will she stay dead or is there a possibility that
she become another Leliana?
Becauce only a few people have get this scene. So why not make her immortal like Leliana?
www.youtube.com/watch

I only ask this out of curiosity. I  never have killed her by the way.

I didn't even know you COULD kill Merrill. How does that sequence occur?

If you side with the Templars and you don't have max friendship/rivalry with her. I think. Must be like killing a kitten.

Siding with the templars without reaching a certain level of Friendship/Rivalry.

I thought someone from BW officially said if someone was dead they're going to stay that way, after many people asked about Anders.

From the DragonAge Wiki: "If otherwise, Merrill initially refuses to help a pro-Templar Hawke
if she was not spoken to after an unpleasant encounter with her clan, and if Anders considers Hawke a full rival. He must also be talked with after fulfilling all his requests so that he can be potentially
persuaded to turn against the mages; his actual fate is irrelevant.

Later, Hawke meets Merrill in the Gallows courtyard. If the  Champion asks Merrill to rejoin them at this point, she can be convinced; Hawke is the only person she is very close with, a bond  stronger than her pride in magic. Instead, if Hawke does not want  Merrill at their side, she walks away, and is eventually killed in
combat after her last words with Hawke."

Excellent. I'm working on a "kill everyone" playthrough, and hadn't yet done my research on how to kill off the various DA2 companions. (I'm still in DAO on that one).

Yes but Anders was a major decision that can´t be miss.
Merrill is different like Leliana she can only be killed under certain conditions.

Well, Anders just took a knife to the back. Merrill could be torn to pieces, take an arrow to the head or even burned with magic. If they brought one of them back, Anders would make a little bit more sense.

As much as I love Merrill, I don't want any other Leliana case.

If the puppy is a blood mage who consorts with demons? Sure, I'll kill it.

Why so complicated? Bioware can also ignore this like a Cullen epilogue where he have murdered 3(Was it three?) mages.

If they brought one of them back, Anders would make a little bit more sense.

Anders stays dead if he gets killed by Hawke. David Gaider confirmed it several times.

Killing Merrill was one of the best things I did in DA2, but if she returns I won't be too mad. People love to bash Bioware because of Leliana, but in DAO Wynne died off screen and returned as an abomination, the same could happen to Merrill.

Cullen killed mages in an epilogue slide. It's not comparable to a in-game death.

Well, do you like it when Bioware ignores stuff like that? I don't.
And I never denied that Anders is not going to appear if you killed him, what I did say is that Anders death scene wasn't a bloody slaughter and someone surviving a knife on the back would make more sense than someone surviving whatever Merrill suffers at the hand of Hawke and co.

Probably, if BioWare feels Merrill's character is very important to the DA lore. They'll recton & it'll be done happily to the horror of individuals, nostalgic regarding good, consistent storytelling.

It depends on how big is Merrills role in DA 3. Is she an essential part of the story when yes i would not mind it.
Merrill and Leliana aren´t the same major killing decisions like Anders, Zevran or Loghain.
They can easily be miss out.

Maybe she'll be in DA3, but Leliana in DA2 wasn't important to the plot at all.

Yes for DA 2. But for DA 3 that is something different. I think she is quite important to the plot.
I would not be surprised if Leliana become a DA 3 companion.

Well yes she was in some way considering DA2 story was pretty much a prologue/introduction to DA3 story and a few important future characters.

It'd be an insult to everyone that didn't like Merrill or that killed her in the end of DA2, even by accident.

So yes, that sounds good to me. Go for it.

For the life of me I can't understand how people can get so pissed off over a character who 99% of people will have seen survive being included in future games.
