It might not be Tin Foil Hat o'clock where I am, but I believe the reason Leliana is alive no matter what is because she is actually Andraste, or some near-Andraste being.

I like the approach Spartacus took at the end of Blood and Sand.

For me, when it comes to every character in DA 2, I say:

Kill them all.

(that includes Hawke, of course)

Oh yeah me too. But as long as Anders doesn't talk, I'm fine. Justice was kind of boring though, but Vengeance I liked.

Should we start making a list of characters we're expecting to make a return in some way? Maybe then, we can work out any returning characters as companions. (Think Cullen will be on both lists given his fanbase and his VA's accidental confirmation on Twitter).

So you believe that there's no good characters in DA2?
I liked DAO a lot more than DA2, but Varric is my favourite companion so far.

Sorry but David Gaider don´t like the idea of a Zombie Anders. And he also said that Justice is destroyed or went back to the Fade.

Merill is not my favourite DA2 character but that said i've never killed her. If you have though i see no reason why she shouldn't stay dead in your playthrough. Leilana has been brought back from the dead if killed because they clearly have a major role for her to play in DA3 story.

I liked DAO a lot more than DA2, but Varric is my favourite companion so far.

My attempt at being funny was not intended to be taken literally because it exaggerates my unfavorable disposition towards DA 2's characters. They were not all bad, but terrible as I found the game, I prefer to see virtually nothing return from it whether that be characters, approach, or features.

I don't disbelieve you, I've only heard Anders wont return from the dead nothing about Justice.

To me a mad Justice in a decaying Anders body sounds like a perfect creepy sidequest for a DA game.

In a mage playthrough, I wouldn't mind joining with Vengeance. Could get some interesting, first hand lore on these things.

(Not that non-mages can't get possessed, just more likely for the silly mages)

I orignally typed Vengence but it read like vengence was p.o.-ed not that he was insane.

 If she's dead, she should stay that way. I may dislike her, but I'd never kill her for that reason. Pissing her off is so satisfying, though.

If anyone was going to get retcon resurrected, she'd probably have a fairly high chance, since Merrill killers appear to be really really rare. She's not like Anders, who dies pretty frequently as the result of a direct and prominent choice.

Though I'd only see it happening if Eluvians become a really big deal, and even then they've got Morrigan to serve as our Mirror expert.

Merrill never died in any of my playthroughs either. She should definitely return like Leliana. Leliana was a beloved character, thats why she returned. Obviously Merrill isnt as awesome as Leliana, but she's cool and should definitely be back regardless of what a few players might've done. Others, like Anders, who a LOT of people killed, thats different, he probably should stay dead, but the ones that most everybody loves should return, that would obviously include Merrill.

How dare you! Anyone who killed Merrill should feel bad! She is the sunshine in my aggressive hawke life she wanted to plant flowers around my house since everything around me is grim! You sir and madams who plan to kill her should feel bad! Shame on you!

Killing Merrill is like stabbing a puppy or kitten.
