[Vormalon]

Bit of a strange one. If i make changes to my profile (ie, update the bio etc) and click save changes it will say that it has updated but as soon as i navigate away from that page it clears all the fields and my profile clearly hasnt updated.

Anyone else have this problem?

Works fine here. If you update the biography and go to http://social.bioware.com/935, does it not show up at the top?

Nadda. Diddley-squat. It just has my recent activity, and it says in there that ive updated but theres no sign of the update. No sign of the Profile section at all.

Is there anything in your profile you can update? That sticks, that is.

Ive put something in every field so...i guess not. The section that the information would appear in isnt there at all. If that makes any sense to you? For example...



In your profile you have the headings "Personal Information", "Builder Information", and "Recent Activity". I only have the "Recent Activity" one and cant seem to update the information to go into the other sections.

Yeah, I wondered about that. Did you modify any privacy settings?

All set to the defaults. Ive looked at them and cant see anything to toggle particular info anyway.

Edit: I changed my site theme to the DA:O theme and that worked but reset to the default as soon as i navigated away from the settings page. So I would assume the same happens to the rest of it as well. But why it wont keep the settings is beyond me.

Please post your browser vendor/version, and our devs will look into it.



Additionally, be aware that it does *not* save changes when you switch tabs in the profile editor.

Im using Firefox 3.0.14.

And yes i'd noticed that it doesnt save between tabs. I tried lots of combinations

Its probably also worth mentioning that on the Home page it doesnt have any updates. It says:



Recent Activity



There has not been any recent activity on the social network.



I didnt think much of it but apparently theres supposed to be friends updates and stuff there? Anyway it might be connected.

I'm having the same problems as Vormalon. Even if I try to update one tab at a time. Firefox 3.0 for me too.

For some reason, even though I have every option checked for front page display, when I update my status, I do not see it on the front page when I used to be able to before the site went public.

Yeah, I'm having this problem too. Highly annoying. I just checked and very interestingly, I have the same version of Firefox as Vormalon (3.0.14). I'll try with IE and post back here.


Update: Well I tried with IE and my information wouldn't save either. I can change my picture to a character I created in the DA:O Character Creator, but everytime I save other information - like my name- it isn't there when I come back to the page later.

It updates on the page your on (albeit temporarily) but its like it doesnt connect to the database and update the other pages. And as soon as you move away from the settings page the temporary changes go too.



The only settings i can change that stick, are avatars, status, and language settings. And obviously i can make posts, upload characters and join groups and things, but any actual settings aside from language/avatar doesnt stick around.

Just adding my two cents, I've tried the latest Firefox, Chrome, IE8 and the changes to my profile aren't 'sticking'. I get the message that it has saved and the profile settings page changes, but everything is lost as soon as I click on another page.



For what it's worth, I've tried all the browsers above in XP Home, Vista Business and Windows 7 Pro...

I'm another one who is in this situation (not saving profile changes and showing no update feed). I'm on Firefox 3.5.3 but have also tried it on IE7 with the same results.

Just so people know, this is still an issue. Only, I have tried again recently and this time it didnt even post the lie of "Vormalon has updated his profile" on my recent activity list.

Edit: And to make me look like an idiot the notification appears after i post. <_< But anyway, the old problem is still there. Hopefully you can find a solution to it.

There's not much you can do on your profile with this issue. But everything else seems to work. But van Herk said people would look into it, so I have faith

We have been unable to reproduce this. Please provide your operating system vendor/version, and any browser plugins or addons you have installed.

I just tested it, my profile is updating fine for me. Hopefully it starts working for you.

Where I'm situated at the moment. 


OS Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
Firefox 3.0.14 (Plugins: AVG Security Toolbar, AVG Safe Search, DNA(bittorrent), .NET Framework assistent, Premier advertising platform and Skype Extension.)
IE 8.0.600

At home its:
Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit SP2
Firefox 3.0.14
IE 7 (Can't check for the exact version but I'm quite certain it's 7.)

I think it isn't reproducable because it really has to do with the accounts themselves, that something might have gone wrong during the creation. (But maybe I said something that's probably stupid now)

Edit: I tested it again with the firefox plugins deactivated. It still doesn't update for me. My page does say I've updated it, but my name just won't show up or proficiencies. (I clicked save changes before going to the other tabs.)

I would agree with MikeSunrider, I think the issue is to do with the profiles themselves and not the browsers/OS.



I have just added Opera to my list of tested browsers (Firefox/IE7/IE8/Chrome) and still no result...
