I love Tim Curry and would love to have him as a VA again. It might be possible with a time warp. Only he needs to talk in Frankenfurter's voice. Now I am going to watch that movie tonight!

If we are going to Orlais in DA3, his work is totally cut out for him.

Keep me safe from trouble and pain and hire Tim Curry for anything. Actually, if you would re use some of the voice actors of the characters that died in DAO and DA2 that would be awesome.

When an actor has a very distinctive voice, it's problematic to bring them back in the same series as someone else... as much as that sometimes pains me.

We need Tim Curry and Jeremy Irons IN THE SAME GAME!

If not Curry, then Irons, and he needs to play a Tevinter Magister.

I say bring in Alan Rickman. And get him to say the line: "Where's my muppy?"

So, does this mean that Tim Curry is confirmed dead?

Solution: Rocky Horror themed Fade dream.   PC can put it down to eating bad cheese.   :wizard:

I'm getting the image in my head of your thinking "He would be a great voice actor for this character!" and then, "Blast!  We've already used him!"

So you have a character with a plot where people keep insisting they're Arl Howe but really, they aren't.  OR ARE THEY?!?

Okay, okay, I'll stop.

That has happened.

We even had an actor audition for a DA2 role who was in DAO... and they were great. Sadly, they had a voice that was really obviously that DAO role. For about two minutes we agonized over whether it would be OK regardless... but no. No, no. Sanity must rule the day (except on Friday, and even then only in the Writer's Pit).

And this situation is still (unfortuately for Mr. Gaider) is not the case with Nathan Fillion.

We've never had Mr. Fillion act for us in DA. The choice of characters might be limited, unless he can do an accent (and, if he can, would he still sound like Nathan Fillion?). Even then, I'd more than happily have him voice someone. Hell, I'd even write a character just for him. That's how much I adore the man.

Thing is, he has that whole TV show thing. And a career. And such. He is a Man In Demand, and good on him. I don't imagine doing VO work on a video game is really his speed any longer. ;)

Captain Hammer for companion and LI. While we're at that, make all his companion quests a mix of musical numbers and interpretive dances.

Bam said the lady (me), instant success.

Please forgive the off-topic question, but what is a Writer's Pit?  It sounds like something you place under a trap door.

It's the place where they keep The Chee.

Yes, I meant that the issue of being unable to re-use him is not an issue, because they never used him.

Darn people with careers and being in demand. I would not say "video game work" is somehow inferior. I mean, Yvonne Strahovski is popular, right? I guess I'll never have my dream of Morgan Freeman as the Maker then :( (not because its Morgan Freeman, but because who else could voice God?)

It is! And that's where we keep all the writers.

I'm told it's to keep us from infecting the rest of the staff. Which is perfectly reasonable.

At least you guys get trap doors that imply some semblance of roominess.

Hollywood writers get those dog carriers.

Mousestalker always posts the funnest thread topics.

I'd love to see Tim Curry return. Hell, as soon as I heard his voice coming out of Rendon Howe, I thought, 'this guy is gonna be vile'. No one does evil villian and makes us love him so much as Tim Curry does.

Interesting.  I assume Chris Priestly is responsible for pulling the leaver to open the trap door, dumping unsuspecting citizens of Edmonton done among the writers.   For when feeding time comes around, of course.

Does a similar thing happen across BioWare franchises? I can't imagine you using Meer or Hale again for any BioWare game for a while since both their voices have become so well known as Shepard.
