Just replying to what I have bolded in the quote. Anderson was part of the crew of the first Normandy, true it was for a short time, but he was still part of the crew.

Yea, but we didn't have a memorial wall on the Normandy SR1, so why would we have a plaque for him on the SR3?  Do we have a plaque made for retired Normandy crew members from +2 years ago?

I say this because I'm of the mind that they actually produce them as needed, but in my "with communication" crash scenario that would mean the entire crew got together & decided Shepard's AND Anderson's fate based on suppositions and then proceeded to fabricate plaques for them.  All within 72 hrs.  What?  Image IPB

The scenes at the end are not in chronological order, especially in Destroy. They're put in an order to feel more dramatic. TV and movies have been doing this all the time for ever when they want suspense and drama. So when we don't get to actually see someone picking up the phone, we are to infer that someone did contact them. Additional scenes of every little thing to get us from point A to B would have made the ending loose impact. Why would we want to see everything? We're intelligent people, right? We can connect the dots without all the hand holding.........
Right?

Yeah think that is the only logical conclusion. Don't think they'd hold a stash of name plaques with people's names etched whereas keeping blank plaques and then engraving them when needed makes more sense. Engraving isn't a laborious process so the short span wouldn't be an issue in that regard.

this argument stems from bad writing (meaning the endings and EC dlc) it was a crappy ending to what was my favorite game franchise,And the EC dlc did nothing but make it worse. what it all boils down to is a game that had a lot of potential that got wasted for whatever reason, so in the end your left with a mediocre game with a busted MP and war assets in SP that don't do squat in game wise and flips you the bird by pissing off every hardcore ME fan at the same time.

Well, Anderson was initially going to use the Normandy as his mobile command center before the Reapers attacked and screwed that plan up, so it makes some sense.

They also had dead crew members from the SR1 on there already like Jenkins, Pressly, the crew that died on Virmire, and others that died during the Collector attack.

But I do agree that it's unrealistic that they would make plaques within 72 hrs. Especially when they should confirm the deaths first before putting them on the wall.

EDIT: Also communications would be down, especially if all the Relays are damaged since that's how the galaxy communicates, even with QEC. Unless the Normandy didn't make a Relay jump and is somewhere close to the Sol System.

The Normandy has a QEC to Hackett's flagship. That's how they found out.

Actually, the memorial wall also has the names that were on all those dog tags you recovered from the Normandy Crash site in ME2.

I believe Corporal Richard Jenkins is also on the wall...

Edit: I should really look ahead on these posts...Image IPB

They added you to the memorial wall well still on the planet after crashing, before that they really had no way of knowing what actually occurred on the Citadel so why do they just assume you died?

Short answer, someone really wanted to convey a message in their story and common sense took the day off.

This is the answer. And what's even worse is that the message that is conveyed is not only forced and goes counter to the themes of the overall narrative, but it's also downright depressing.
