I cannot abide by a dictator ruling the galaxy. I don't care how good and righteous he is, he's a dictator with an army of death machines to enforce his will. My love of free will will not stand for it.

I know. I hate it, too. But I refuse to alter all beings against their will, and I refuse to obliterate synthetic life. Believe me, my Shepard will rarely use his power.

In fact, if my Shepard determines that he simply can't protect the galaxy without violating the galaxy's self-determination, he may just become a wandering cosmic entity. Something will have to be done with the Reapers themselves. They will probably be restored and left to rejoin the galaxy.

Afterward, Shepard will just leave the galaxy for all time, destined to wander the universe forever.

"Your" Shepard is dead. Unless you headcanon, in which case, headcanon away!

Your Shepard, or rather the AI you created by choosing Control, will not remain passive. Listen to the monologue again. A "Guardian for the many" sounds nice, right? Well, that includes a) watching and B) doing something against anything that seems wrong.
Javik will choose to fight. It seems like Miranda and Oriana will choose to fight. And every single one of your squaddies was determined to destroy the reapers no matter what, so your Holoshep will either have to kill or indoctrinate them.

So once again, have fun putting down the resistance!

Look guys, if you can headcanon things in Destroy, I can headcanon things in Control. I will not assume the worst of Destroy, and you won't assume the worst of Control.

That said... If we get new information from DLC, my choice may change. And if you continue to scare me away from Control, I may end up at Destroy. Goodness, that would be tragic...

I am just not willing to sacrifice the Geth or EDI in destroy.

And Synthesis is forcing a state of being on people, it does not matter (to me at least) that it has the benefits it does or if it is inevitable, people deserve the right to choose for themselves.

So you rather sacrifice every living being in the galaxy?

Yep.

. To be totally honest, I do not see most militaries of the galaxy accepting control.  Or the anybody who lost loved ones to the reapers.  I think resistance is inevitable.  Not that destroy is any brighter, Krogan resurgence, weakened everybody, Geth killed... No ending is really all sunshine and roses

You see, this is one of the major problems with the Extended Cut. It locks Control into a certain mindset. The original endings were so open that you could easily headcanon that Shepard throws the Reapers into the Sun.

Do you really think the species of the Galaxy will kill themselves off to stop a passive Reaper force that is rebuilding their homes?

Honestly, it sounds more like you're placing your views and what you would do on the whole galaxy.

Because nobody would be suspicious if the giant metal monsters who's plan was to destroy you and all you love suddenly turn docile and try to "help". *nod*
And even if, nobody likes dictators. Eternal peace and happiness is not something humans (and I'd wager aliens) can handle. There will always be people who will speak out against the Reapers.

The problem is that your headcanon does not fit into the monologue. A "guardian for the many" does not simply leave them alone.

I like your assumption and headcannon bro. Also, Miranda and Orianna are probably studying why the Reapers suddenly became passive, not ways to stop them from rebuilding their houses and the mass Relays.

Now I can agree. If we could interpret freely what Holoshep would do, I would find Control acceptable. If you fly the Reapers into the sun, you basically have Destroy without casualties. Nothing wrong with that.

. That's exactly what I'm suggesting.  The militaries will probably keep fighting, the Realers will annihilate them.  Then resistance becomes local.  Nobody has any reason to believe that the reapers would just all of a sudden become nice

Deadly genocide spaceships. Always watching. And with a leader you don't understand.

Partly headcanon, partly logic. Do you doubt Javik would choose to fight?

And telling them what to do, whether they like it or not. Face it, the Sheaper is a dictator, who will try to impose order on the chaotic races of the galaxy. And this will only end in one way.

Now, this is my jam.  It sounds like victory, damn it.

Actually, screw that.  This sounds like victory.

In fact, let me just drop some classic jams up in here.

Well, everyone knows that the Crucible was just used. Since the Reapers' behavior has suddenly changed, I bet a lot of people will make the connection. There will also be the fact that Shepard's body is missing. Miranda and Liara can piece it all together. ;)

Godspeed, CG. Glad you were able to come to terms with the right choice for your Shepard, even if I disagree.
