Leader of everything =/= Guardian for the many?

This isn't Renegade control man.

Partly headcanon, partly logic. Do you doubt Javik would choose to fight?

One casualty kind of pales in comparrison to the mass genocide in Destroy.

@ Eterna5 and Isichar, nowhere does it show in the EC the militaries of the galaxy not fighting anymore. "I will protect the few from the many" could even suggest that the militaries were destroyed to prevent a conflict between the reapers and the other militaries. The EC slides show the reapers still around, but Alliance, Turian, Asari ships etc... All strangely absent. Again it's just an idea that I had.

Godspeed, CG. Glad you were able to come to terms with the right choice for your Shepard, even if I disagree.

This is a beautiful comment.

Everyone, take note.

. Only if you consider the Geth(who could be dead by this point) and the reapers "alive".  I don't, therefore it's not genocide, they have to be alive for them to die

Your Shepard, or rather the AI you created by choosing Control, will not remain passive. Listen to the monologue again. A "Guardian for the many" sounds nice, right? Well, that includes a) watching and B) doing something against anything that seems wrong.

It includes protecting people. The horror.

And telling them what to do, whether they like it or not. Face it, the Sheaper is a dictator, who will try to impose order on the chaotic races of the galaxy. And this will only end in one way.

Nowhere in the ending does it say Shepard will become a dictator and tell people what to do. That is pure inference on your part. The only thing the Reapers do now? Stop galatic threats. If you aren't a galatic threat i.e new Krogan rebellion, then you have nothing to worry about.

So again, a force that protects me from galatic extinction?! The horror!

They are alive, the game even tells you so. You denying it doesn't make it void.

. You can tell Legion to its face that you don't think it's really alive.  It disagrees.  As for the reapers, they are either mindless slaves to the Catalyst, not alive, or they are acting of their own accord in which case Control would be useless and ineffective.

In Destroy Ships are notably absent in all slides too. It means nothing.

Sometime I should make a Samuel L. Jackson-looking Sheppard, and then headcannon this:

"Hey glowkid why don't you just shut the **** up? I don't wanna be some mutha****in' cyborg, I'm just gonna blow your ass to smither - wait, what? I can take your job? Heeeelll yeeaaah man!"

*grabs energy rods and begins to dissolve*

"I'm GOD mother****er!"

First one was a misunderstanding. It is the reaper's leader you don't understand.
Holoshep leads the reapers. People do not understand Holoshep, but the reapers are still here. It is kind of... intimidating, I suppose?

Second, Javik. He won't be the only one, but who knows who might join. The Krogan might. The remaining Batarians may demand vengeance for their homeworld. Even the Turians possibly, although I believe the council would keep them in check. So sudden and one-sided peace is unlikely to come without confusion and casualties, especially if the suddenly peaceful side is all but sympathetic.

But you know what? I'm done arguing now, you can't be that bad, you have a Liara banner ;)

And here I thought you were leaning towards Synthesis, op.  Not that being 1 within the "Collective" is perfect, but I didn't peg you for a power tripping mad man.  :D

. So?  They are still there.  Also, Wrex/Wreav/Grunt to back to Tuchunka on Alliance military shuttles.  Those shuttles had to be launched from something

What part of "Guardian of the Many" do you not understand? How does one guard anything if one doesn't interfere? The Sheaper outright says he's going to be active. That means, anything he could see as a potential threat to the safety of "The Many" (however he defines it), anything at all, he will exterminate. He tries to control something that neither can nor wants to be controlled.

Food for thought: The Catalyst was also programmed to find the best solution for the conflict between organics and synthetics, to create peace and order. We all know how that turned out. Just saying.

I also wonder how one can be so arrogant to believe one deserves what is essentially the power of a god in the first place.

Control is a good choice OP.

It is basically a compromise choice, and we do with it the best we can.

So to you, protecting people = ruling their lives and controlling them? And who cares if people with evil ambitions are not allowed to fufill their ambitions?

Do you feel less free because you're not allowed to murder someone? Would people in the Galaxy feel less free because they're not allowed to wage war?

I think the situation is slightly different considering the Reapers were just annihilating everything in their path without mercy, and now they're very suddenly under the control of a holographic representation of Shepard. So I think it's pretty reasonable to believe a lot of people would be intimidated by something that has the capability to kill eveyone very easily, and is commanding those which expressed the motive to want to do exactly that.
