Compared to all the others it is the only Banner that can't be achieved by simple grinding.

Map Mastery shows you are proficient on many levels in the game on Gold... or that you got carried through a ton of Gold games, which is less likely.

Given enough time it shows only that you have you can get that too by being carried.

Anybody who can  solo can achieve Map Mastery.

It requires you to be aware and put some effort in to get.
Skill? Not this late in the game.

That's probably true.

In time yes... but not now. That's a LOT of getting carried...

A friend of mine soloed Platinum with a Turian Ghost on Rio... sitting inside the damn boxes spamming stim packs. Said it took him 2 hours.

Lone Wolf Banner means poo

It still means more than most other banners in terms of skill.

I think that distinction requires some explanation.

I`m afraid that too many people are willing to invest that much time achieve just a bunch of Pixels.

 Some have said it.

I wonder if it is true.

I dont think so. I guess the " Nomad" banner would be a better indicator of skill. Playing 100 waves of Gold on basically each map..

Edit: Didnt notice someone already said this.... That is what I get for not reading through the whole thread

I rarely join in these conversations as they invariably degenerate into a "nuh-uh" "uh-huh" back-and-forth, but I have to say that *as of today* I think a Lone Wolf, Nomad and Hardcore all on the same person denotes a certain amount of something. Call it skill, experience, situational awareness, patience, whatever, but any player with those three banners (and probably a few others acquired in passing from just playing the game) is probably above-average.

This is of course impossible to tell while in a lobby unless you open a browser and look to see whether that person's N7 HQ is public. It also becomes less and less of a valid indication by the day, this weekend if Squad Elite is corrected, I bet anyone who wants "Mass Effect" will have it, or be very close to having it.

I have sometimes wondered if it should be possible to see a collection of a person's acquired banners in the lobby, either on a shifting- or scrolling basis like Promotions, N7 and Challenge Points, or as an addition to the loadout screen. Then again, since it's such a diminishing value, it's probably not worth patching the game for and not likely to happen.

Same here. I might consider it if they add a function that allows you to pause the game when you are soloing .

This is interesting turn anyway. Before Challenge system was introduced, people who could solo gold(or even platinum) were considered very capable. Now if you wear LW banner, it´s automatically considered that you have no skills whatsoever and you choose kroguard who will play the match for you while you are watching tv. Posted Image

Team skills aside, I believe solo gold/platinum requires at least situational awarness, knowing of game mechanics and map layout. Kroguard just happens to be most forgiving for any kind of mistakes, but you still have to know your ways.

With a solo platinum, most have used the map glitches on hydra and dagger. That right there taints the banner more than kroguarg vs geth.

True Mass Effect aficionado will never use glitches.

PEople who say gold solo is EASY with krogaurd are liars, it may be the easiest way to do it but it is still obviously harder than playing gold with 4 players and I've seen a lot of bad players in gold and even silver lobbies, I know people who have tried to solo gold for the challange and fail.
Bronze pug = Easy
Gold solo = Hard but doable if you know how to play and dont get unlucky with the objectives.

Yeah, and I also find the fights in single player to be incredibly pointless as well.

Might as well play games where you don't shoot stuff and what-not.

I think that distinction requires some explanation.

The games old and people have good gear.
Soloing gold with certain class setups is a joke.
How many people got that banner with a Kroguard or TGI?

Most people never solo and now they solo just for the banner so they have no intention of soloing for the challenge of it or to get better, they just want the banner.

This is actually valid, allot of people saying how easy it is, don't have it and the excuse is "It's boring". Not a very valid excuse.
