So I just picked up book 5 in Games of Thrones set.  I'm allso doing some new play throughs of DA:O on the side.  Has any one noticed just how simular these two groups are?

They both take an oath/joining to the order of brother hood.
They both protect from something realy bad that happens very rarely.  *blight/others comeing*
They both take in those that have commeted crimes or not wanted.
While the Crow's don't take Females it seems they are very rare in the Wardens.
They are suppose to take no sides/part of the governoring of a country *Even though you can planly see the wardens get knee deep in this part).

Just was thinking it's kinda of odd that they have alot of simular qualites...

AFAIK the Wardens are actually based on the Night's Watch, so it's not that surprising

I picked up on it right away but I get why the Grey wardens isolate themselves, they're tainted the nigh****ches isolation is retarded they should **** like bunnies and create their own next generation of the Nigh****ch the whole no having sex thing is retarded for the nigh****ch I do NOT get it at all.

It doesn't say they can't have, just they won't take up no wives. I see this as more a mental crush thing. IF you had family (wife/kids) you might worry about them than doing your actual job. I bet when they where plentyfull and maned all the towers on the wall it was more like an order of knights, say something like crusaders knights, but as there wasn't much need of a threat it all got slacked and went to just sending the worse of the worse to man the wall with a few low born nobles too.

WIsh I read these books when they first came out there good. Now if we can just get a low borne caste for humans lol. Pretty much my lowborne Dwarf will have to fill this after I get finished with my realy nasty bad guy Male Noble play through I"m in now....this guy hates mages too so you can just see how this is going to go....
