How about releasing an edition thst comes wiith an online pass, with no expiry date, for all future DLC. Call it the Online Edition and just have the game and the online pass included.

A lot of people decided to wait (indefinitely) before buying DA2/ME1/2 because they were waiting to pay a premium for Complete Editions that never materialised. An Online Edition, with codes for future DLC, would be essentially the same as a Complete Edition for a lot of these people, and would get them to purchase the game on release (at an inflated Special Edition price.)

A lot of people don't like DLC because they think it will be difficult to download, might not download properly (after already having paid for it) or are worried about security. That's a market that is being missed out on.

Something I wanted to add here. Seems like it would be interesting to everyone. Please take a look at this Bioware if you decide to release a CE!

Best and Worst Collector Editions

Maybe it could give everyone some more ideas :)

the ENTIRE soundtrack. not just some tracks like DEHR had, the entire soundtrack. Entire.
A clothmap OR a cloth with the warden symbol or kirkwall symbol or inquisitor symbol ,something like that.
Artbook.
A FRICKING POSTER!!

My favorite collector's edition items are soundtracks, artbooks, special cases, and some type of in-game content. In contrast, I don't like collector's editions with expensive items like figures, huge replicas, night-vision goggles, and so on.

I like art books, real manuals, the making of type DVD's.

I am not a big fan of in game things, but I suppose those are inevitable since many folks will only digital download the game, and Bioware want to sell them the premium priced editions as well.

I want a digital-only collectors edition that comes with DLC swag. Cause I like DLC swag, but I don't want any more crap I have to dust.

Having the Collector's Edition come with a Season Pass for DLC sort of like Borderlands 2 would be really nice. With Bioware doing really big DLCs like Omega, knowing that the extra money I spent for the Collector's Edition means I won't have to spend more down the road would make it worth the premium price.

When I look at a CE these are things that peak my interest:

1) Unique Case. Preferably one that isn't so inflexible it causes disk damage, since I bought ME3 on the PC I never actually removed the disk from the case because it was such a pain.

2) Soundtrack. I am a sucker for a soundtrack for games, if I don't buy a CE and I enjoy the game I will generally buy the soundtrack off iTunes.

3) Cloth Map (quality paper one would work too). These are always a nice touch, I got a paper map with Oblivion that was paper so I actually had it laminated to a board so I hung it on my wall like a poster.

4) In-Game Item. I always like the idea of adding something to the game that doesn't give the player an advantage, but it adds flavor.

5) Lithograph. I know some people weren't happy with the lithograph that came with the Mass Effect 3 N7 Edition, but I put it into a 4x6 frame and keep it on my desk.

Generally any combination of those I don't mind, but I don't want a statue, it over inflates the price of the collector's edition and can be a big letdown. The other thing is I don't want is multiple different limited editions of the game either which seems to be happening more and more and I find it frustrating if I want to get access to all the bonus materials you would have to buy multiple versions of the game to get access to what interests me.

I like DLC swag... but what I'd really like to see is an iPad/Android app that syncs with the Codex entries you've unlocked in the game, so you can read them later on your mobile device. (Actually, I still use an Palm/HP Pre2, but asking for an app for a dead OS like that would be too much to ask, I suppose).

I would like for Bioware to include a silver cap based on RaenImrahl's. And it's totally not because I suffer from hat-envy.

I don't think DA3 deserves a "Collector's Edition". Maybe something like with DA2's "Signature Edition" or "Special Edition." The use of "Collector's" seems to me like something that should be saved for something special. Especially since, given DA2, how many people are really going to "collect" this? Again. given how DA2 did, they should offer another free upgrade to the whatever edition like with DA2.

Anyways, they'll probably throw in a DLC Character. I'd like to see some weapons and armor. And its a safe bet they'll throw in some MP character or map or whatnot.

Well, when I buy the game (lets face it, no matter how horrible people will claim it is, I 'll still buy it sooner or later) it'll be the DDE. I like the extra content, but hate waiting until the actual box of the CE gets here. I'm hoping for a day-1 DLC that we'll get a month before the standard edition plebs. A Starter kit of equipment, that is not overpowered, would be nice. Maybe cosmetic DLC, like special tattoes or what's not? If I'm shelling out the extra 10$, I should feel I got my money's worth, nay?

I also think a more importent question is what will they offer as a preorder bonus? Because those are where they need to bring their "A game", since it wants players to buy a game mostly on faith.

Good for BioWare if people are interested in a CE for DA3.

I will most likely pre-order the CE if it's coming out but this will be based on my love of DAO rather than DA2. I actually liked the ME3 CE although I would have preferred to have the soundtrack on a disk rather than download the 800MB package.

As for what I would like to see on a DA3 CE, I agree that a cloth map would be amazing!

A couple hundred thousand.

It's a safer bet that any and all MP maps will be free for everyone who buys a new copy of the game.

A gun, a pony, a pair nail clippers designed after a signature weapon, a poster of all the voice actors in vampire/zombie/werewolf costumes, an autograph from The Rock and a butter knife designed after the murder knife vDA.3i

Not useless in-game content.

*Soundtrack

*Special game case without the male hero on (just the logo for the game is all you need. Or at least make it reversible.)

*Small items related to the game. (the Fallout New Vegas one apparently included poker chips and a deck of cards. Those are small items related to the themes of that game. This is the kind of thing i'm talking about, not a random statue like what Skyrim had - which brings the price of the edition up even higher)

*Any day 1 dlc

*Xbox avatar stuff

*Map

An Origin free version would be nice.
