I protest at the treatment Bioware gives us women. Have
always had my admiration of fact I have all the games published by
them, but it bothered me endlessly criticized the treatment he gave to
female characters (the players) given in the romances. The
scenes of "sex" of the female characters the children could see 10
years without problems, not that they will have done, if not to assume
that we must protect muejeres on certain images or mental weakness is they think they do not like pure sex. Well Gentlemen .... WE LIKE like men, so do not treat us like children of 10 years.

If I read and understood that correctly, your complaining that the sex scene's aren't graphic enough for you? and that these scene's have been "dumbed" down to be "child" friendly?

Don't blame BioWare (or EA for that matter) for this - blame the Standards boards & the media. Due to the different rating system's around, to make a game into a sellable game to the masses (ie 15-17+ at max) game makers have to tone down "adult" stuff so as to not get banned.

Also blame the media and the hoarde of puritans around the world for not wanting to see human bodies or sex or anything like that. Just look at the outcry about the 1 scene in Mass Effect where you could see the shadow of the side of an alien female's boob! oh noez! And I'm sure we all remember "Hot Coffee" and the huge outcry this made..

AND btw, for anyone who claims I'm "anti-american".. pfft.. at least you HAVE r18+ rating for games. Here in Australia.. anything r18+ gets banned or completely nerfed to kindergarden level (just look for what become of Left 4 Dead 2 here in Aus for instance...)

So yeah, in the end.. it's not that the game makers are intentionally treating us like kids becuse they want to - they are forced to if they want to be able to sell the game to the mass public. anything more "graphic" and it would be r18+ (and likely banned in Australia) and chances are not sold in most stores and thus have limited market.. and thus limited sales.. and not really worth their time.

If this isn't what you were talking about, my apologies.

The "puritans" are mostly in North America, where graphic violence is okay but nudity is not. Europe is the opposite. Nudity okay but blood and gore not. The Europeean attitude make mroe sense, imo.

In Canada, it is more like Europe, where we have separate rating system for movies that is far more lenient toward nudity and swearing than the US. Unfortunately, we don't have a separate system for games and so the American ESRB ratings are followed instead, which are not consistant at all with the Canadian film ratings.

Excuse my hard English is not my forte. The truth I am surprised that in Australia you may have as many problems as I have always considered Spain as a country too monastic, but that is not the subject of protest.

My objection is that the graphic scenes of male characters are more esplicitas compared with female characters.

I really think that the world should be a sexual revolution, so there were many taboos and nonsense.

This is not something that Bioware or EA have any say in.

You see, many people still are of the opinion that men need more blunt optics to enjoy a scene. While a romantic scene with less flesh will be enough for women.

They are silly taboos

the maximum of romanticism that is supposed to talk about shoes and hairstyles. If I were a homosexual man I would go so eloquent conversation.

NDav - maybe, but the "puritans" have more power here in Australia. since in the US there is at least a R18+ for games and opportunity to buy them. Here, they either get banned or modified to kiddy level (or modified.. and have kids playing adult games.. silly pollies). And at least Canada does use a rating system where R18+ is allowed.. even if their standards don't met/match your other R18+ standards.. Heck, even if Australia did the same and used the ESRB ratings and allowed R18+ here it would be better than what we have now.

Jayelet - sorry to half hijack your thread. I haven't actually played through as a male character, so wasn't aware that male PC's had more explicit/detailed sex scene's. I agree that if they do, then it's plainly silly, ridiculous and not very equal (isn't there supposed to be "equal rights" between gender's now days.. pfft.. we all know it isn't so however ;/)

While Bioware and EA can't do anything about the different rating systems around the world. They can at least make it so that the scene's they do put in play are fair, balanced and equal.

Why does it matter if the male or female scenes are more/less explicit? It's not like you can't play both! I was rather surprised that a female char gets more, um, variety than a male char.

(And even more surprised there were sex scenes at all! :o C'mon... at least it's progress. :) )

Ok.

I'll be blunt.

You say that males get the more "graphic" scene? That may be so but . . . if I don't see no ****** then I don't give a damn.

More to the point however, I believe a quick Google search of "Porn" would be more effective then hanging around the forums.

I'm sorry, I'm having a hard time understanding you.

You are talking about some sort of difference between the male and female versions of the scene yes? They are not equal somehow?

I have to say that I doubt that very much. both scenes were created by the same people (I imagine). If there was any difference between the scenes . . . then this leaves us with 3 options.

Bioware is purposely "raining on your parade"
The difference is in our minds
They didn't put as much effort into the scene because they had already made one (laziness).

Become a feminine character and to that I refer myself. Indeed to the homosexuals treat them equal ... how strange.

You are incorrect.

All the sex scenes are the same.

The sex scenes for male characters have their clothes on, they are not nude.

It is exactly the same as the sex scenes that the female characters get.

There is no discrimination or difference between them.

Besides moderating the forum, do you really have played with people of both sexes?

NOT by what you say is not true.

But look, for that is the creation of modules, to change what we dislike, without censorship or puritanical nonsense.

Well . . . he's a moderator. I'm fairly certain he's not talking out of his arse.

If you want to change something . . . use a mod. Change it.

My opinion probably doesn't count for bollocks,  but I've always considered Singapore to be much more puritan than the Americas. Singapore makes us look like hussies. If anything, we're awfully moderate about it. We refrain from censoring it completely, yet we do maintain standards. We're the averagest of the average, and if anyone makes us un-average, we averagely whine in an awfully average way, no?
