Buffs to tech bursts, cryo explosions, and fire explosions make them pretty easy to get on combat classes that have superior weapon damage to biotics. Perhaps a small AOE buff and damage buff.
I still admittedly play them for fun but they're mostly squishy and suffer in terms of damage to other classes. There should be an argument other than fun if we are reaching for a balanced game.
Is there any reason to choose biotics over combat classes now?

Not really. Combat classes have best damage per second and the best shield & health. Biotics need a buff imo. Like a gear bonus to improve biotic combo damage & blast radius.
Biotics are supposed to be the "mage" class, traditionally a glass cannon, lots of damage and low health.

Biotics can now detonate even MORE explosions and that somehow makes them less useful?
Okay.
Okay.

- Biotic explosions deal double damage against armor and barriers.
- Biotic explosions are forceful, and can deal physics damage to infantry targets.
- Many biotic powers boost the damage and force of explosions, but few tech powers do.
- Many of the biotic kits are among the tougher characters in the game: Biotic Charge, Tech Armor, Barrier, Biotic Sphere, and Reave (and now Blade Armor!) all provide substantial survivability.
- Biotic classes often offer superior crowd-control abilities, from the "soft" control of Lash and Throw to the excellent Stasis, Singularity, and Pull.

Do tech explosions scale up for higher difficulties...cuz biosplosions do!

yea, there's a reason: you want to.....also, the weapons arent limited to combat classes, so biotics can use them too

Mostly the last point. Biotics also tend to have the fastest cooldowns on powers meaning the buffs to fire explosions also carry over.
Weapon classes can carry heavier weapons, but theres no real difference in the health and shields a biotic user can get vs a soldier. Its based more on race and build than it is on class. Weapon users just get the boon of benefiting more from ignoring one of their three powers to gain increased health and shields.
If your thinking your getting the same boom for your buck by triggering fire explosions with a rank 3 power than you are from a rank 6 power than your seriously mistaken. You can spec a soldier to be power based and make him into a "power class" or you can spec a biotic into weapons and make it a weapon class it more or less means the same, one just leans more towards one end of the spectrum than the other.

The key for biotics is to have at the very least biotic pairs if not biotic squads. If I am a long biotic in a group of shooters I have my limitations. Get a team of two or more roving in unison and it's at least as good if not better than a group of shooter imo.

If you run an all biotic squad then they are amazing. but if you have any tech or inc, dis, cryo ammo in a game with you , you won't be getting many BEs anymore

You can use Biotics in conjunction with Fire/Cryo explosions...
Shoot enemy with Incendiary Ammo, Primer like Warp for Fire Explosion, followed by a detonator like Throw or Shockwave for a Biotic Explosion.

Yes, those that love "space magic" will still play them nonetheless. Otherwise, there is a clear trend toward weapons and tech users.
I already suggested some balance changes to even out the gap in this thread. Basically, I suggest that one or more of these changes be applied:
1) Biotic detonators should always prioritize biotic primers over any other primers
2) Reduce the base cooldown of some biotic powers
3) Seeker swarms have no effect on power's cooldown, but the shield regen cannot kick in for a longer duration
4) Gears that gives more cooldown on biotic powers

Biotics haven't dominated ever since April, when Bioware started buffing EVERYTHING else. More damage to almost all weapons, added gears to assist with damage output, multiple new kits that makes using weapons much better, increased grenade capcity, nerfed biotic explosions' radius, shield gate effects decreased on high difficulties, and lots of other things that I probably forgot.
Biotics and tech still have a place of course, but the way the game works, doing lots of damage really quickly tends to solve problems more quickly. Powers are more useful for the more difficult objectives.

Would anyone argue that combat classes have gotten much stronger since the start of the game with the new shield gating reduction and weapon damage buffs? Would anyone argue that biotics have gotten weaker? As stand alone characters they are much weaker, and squisher than other characters for the most part.

I don't know I regularly am 1-2 in points and usefulness in gold when I go biotic. I usually am always the lowest level char as well since I play only play one or 2 games with level 20s before promotion.
2 days ago I was 2nd with a level 5 Justicar in gold.

Biotics are no longer BETTER than tech/combat classes, so if you're looking for a 'best' class, then biotics no longer stand out.
However, Biotics are still equal in power to tech and combat classes, so they're still entirely viable.

Disregarding damage and everything, playing a Biotic is more fun.
Just using guns and the occasional power is boring, to me anyway.

hummm... my scoreboard topping Justicar, Fury and Valkyrie would not agree with you one bit. Add one or more adepts to the team and Gold and Plat runs are a whole lot of BE fun.
Guns? As usual, are just for sneaking a few shots between cooldowns.

People should realize that topping the score sheet means nothing as an Adept. I regularly get the top spot with only 3 medals and less kills than any of my teammates, which still nets me over 100k. Biotic Explosions gives much more experience than a kill with a weapon. So don't base your "power" on the score, it's skewed.
