I read from an article that background will contain origin stories and 'social rank.' Could someone be kind enough to explain what they mean by social Rank? Is it like if the character is a noble or something? Thank you

we don't know yet.

Probably something like noble, commoner, warrior, something like that.

I want to be bourgeois. There aren't enough middle class urban heroes in fantasy.

I would think that Origin and "social rank" is the same, I hope we can choose that and career, kind of like in mass effect.

My inquisitor is going to be an run-of-the-mill esthetician for an Orlesian noblewoman, who, through a series of wild/crazy/goofy events, become high inquisitor.

Starring: Jennifer Lopez as inquisitor

I am not sure there was a strong middle class at that time. One was either a pimp-a**, mofo boss, or some wretched serf.

...

...I think I agree. That could be interesting.

If we really do get to choose social status I hope that means I get to be a commoner again. I don't know why... but if given the choice I almost never choose nobility. Personal bias I guess.

I can see it now.  Dragon Age 4: The Dictatorship of the Proletariat.

Staring:

Karl Marx - as the casteless dwarf political philosopher

Che Guevara - as the dashing Dalish renegade

Vladimir Lenin - as the Cousland's long forgotten radical son

Leon Trotsky - as the rebellious first enchanter

And staring George Orwell - as the idealistic young apostate caught in the middle.

:P
