I find it is even easier to hate surf with the Batarian Vanguard than the Batarian Sentinel.  I can easily get several with out even trying to get hate surf attacks or kills.  Biotic Charge then heavy melee works to activate the sequence.  Lash may cause it too I have not tested it fully.  KUDOS to Bioware for another fun character with the fun ability to hate surf.

Lash doesn't work, or at least I haven't been able to surf with it.Unlike shockwave, by the time you're done with the animation, the target is already flung, and it's too late to build-up the heavy melee combo.

i surfed with lash and it was amazing

but then another time it just made the enemy fly away and explode when i finished the melee so i guess thats ok too

I think it just refers to the windup animation of the Batarian heavy melee. Looks like he is surfing?

if your being serious...

Surfing is becuase the batarrian heavy melee locks onto a target and causes your character to follow it to land the punch, by shockwaving and heavy melee (with the bat sentinal) in sucessio with the timing right will cause him to lock on to the target as it gets hit with shockwave and your character would "surf" teh shokwave with the enemy ebing knocked back by it while finishing the animation

Behold, the wonder and majesty of hate surfing!

It may well be the silliest thing to do in ME3 MP, and gets me to giggle every single time.

The "hate surfing" terminology comes from the fact that you are propelling yourself forward powered only by your own hate.

Lash works fine for surfing, you need to initiate the heavy melee before the Lash animation is finished.

It's so easy to do it with Charge now. And you have full shields, so no more worries about getting gun down afterwards if you crowd surf.

I managed to cruise a Cannibal the length of Ghost earlier.

hate surfing is the most fun way to kill enemies yet in Mass Effect. You lock onto targets with a power such as charge, lash, or shockwave, and within a few seconds follow up on the same or another target to lock onto them and hit them with a heavy melee punch attack. It can be tricky to get the hang of the timing. The shockwave method is fun but less forgiving than the new biotic charge method.

I would LOVE to see a award medal for Hate surfing points, or kills and assists you get for hate surfing attacks. In fact I would love to see more and other fun exploit but legal attack methods like Hate Surfing in Mass Effect Multiplayer.

Good hate surfing you can do maybe 10 to 15 a game or more if you get the hang of it.  You can go from a few inches to 20 feet in a hate surf lock on attack.
