I have never posted on a forum, blog, etc.  I may never again.  But I need to say this.  I live in NYC.  While I'm ok, it flooded 3 blocks over.  We still do not have public transportation, other than buses that even the newscasters said are far too overcrowded to bother trying unless you desperately need to get somewhere.  Like many in the city, I don't have a car since we rely so much on public transportation.  For the last 4 days I have been cooped up in my apartment, trying to get in touch with family and friends in NY and NJ, listening to sirens wailing every couple of minutes. I still have not heard from two of my close friends.  Hopefully that is becaues they lost phone service and nothing worse.  It looks like I will be essentially stuck inside or within walking distance for a few more days.  Yet I consider myself to be fortunate to still have a place to be "stuck inside" when so many others do not.

BioWare, your Halloween Challenge was a very nice and unexpected surprise and came at just the right time. It has been the one nice diversion I have had in several days. Thank you.  And thank you for extending the deadline so that perhaps some others who are suffering through this might be able to have a few hours respite from their ordeal.  It may seem superficial to talk about a game when there is so much tragedy, but sometimes the little things provide a few moments of space to collect yourself and move forward.  This is my first time playing an on-line multiplayer, but it seems to me that you take a real interest in your community and truly love what you do. Your games are heads and tails above the rest, and from everything I have seen you are a classy bunch of people to boot.  This challenge and your extending it just confirms what I already believed.

I also want to say thank you to those on this forum and in the ME3 community at large who have expressed their support for us back east.  A few minutes ago I was playing with a random group on Ghost.  From being tired or stressed or what I don't know, but on wave 11, I uncharacteristically spaced out and forgot about the extraction.  After the match I sent all three of the other players messages explaining and apologizing.  I have already received one reply asking how I am doing ... from a random person I have never met.  That, too, may seem like no big thing.  But when you are going through something like this, little gestures can mean a lot.  So thank all of you, as well.

Now I am going to attempt one more phone call and then go back in to soften up some bosses with my kroguard to help those still pursuing their Halloween banners.  So if you reply to this post and I don't respond, you know where I will be.  In my apartment, waiting by the phone, playing ME3, displaying my holiday banner with sincere appreciation.

Very glad to hear you are doing well amidst this terrible tragedy. These kinds of posts mean so much to myself and to the team working on Mass Effect and the multiplayer feature. This is why we do what we do. Thank you for sharing and stay safe! - Corey Gaspur Lead Combat Designer

Glad to hear you are doing well.  We wish you well and hope things get back to normal soon.  Also happy to hear we could help offer a distraction for you.
