50 bucks and i get a game that is unplayable. Even one post saying we are aware of the problem and are looking into it would be some help.

I found this thread in the self help problem. It is very lively and I'm sure you can find lots of test results there.
http://daforums.biow...02372&forum=146
A quick summary of some of the steps you can take to navigate around this problem:
(Note: These solutions are contributions of the posters of the link above, not from me. Don't look for me if anything goes wrong)
1) Downgrade driver to Catalyst Control Center 9.7 instead of the newer 9.9
2) Turn off AI Suite and Rainmeter
3) Turn off Anti-Virus software

I believe all of us here are experiencing the latter. If you're experiencing the same thing as us and solve it, then it could be great news. But it'll be a pity to play such a great game in crappy graphics...

Vista 32bit
I've been having the 'black screen need hard reset' crash. I think it only happens in conversations.
Many crashes, some after an hour or half an hour of playing, some just a few minutes after loading.
All happening after I reach Ostagar. The graphics get corrupted at first and then the screen goes black.
From the way it looks, it feels like the graphics card crashes or overheats or something.
I have managed to overcome the problem or at least I was able to play for 2-3 hours crash free.
I turned off anti-alliasing and lowered the game graphics from highest to high setting.

I copied my save game to my brother's computer, which has an ATI card and similar specs to mine. Only difference was that he has not redeemed his blood dragon armour. So when I loaded up my game, I force loaded it without the armour, and things are fine. Getting late now and I am going to force load on my own PC to test it again without the blood dragon armour. If anyone has time to test it, do let me know ur results. Cheers

Seems the 3870 is becoming the common thing here. I hope this gets fixed soon, as I'd love to be able to play.
My system:
Core i5 750
4 GB DDR 3
ATI Radeon 3870
Vista 64bit.

Beranzen, very interesting with this armor connection. Is there anyone without the armor that is getting issues?

Takes a hrad reboot - computer totally locks up on the cuts scenes.
Tried all the obvious - drivers, lowered settings. Played a few moments longer in Windowed mode, then that crashed too.
Seems like a waste of $50

I haven't redeemed the armor, and I'm having the problem... sorry to shoot a hole in the theory! I've got a 3870 though, so that still seems like a likely candidate.

I have a 9800GT and sometimes I can play for hours, other times I can't play for 30 seconds. Cutscenes seem to trigger it the most, but it has happened without them as well. I've tried rolling back drivers, lowering graphics, windowed mode, but nothing is permanent. I'm at a total loss.
I'm especially amazed that no information from bioware has been posted. How can they not know about this issue?
