If it's done by french actors, using natural accents, sure. If it's done by people faking an accent, GOD I HOPE NOT!!

They might play the "perception" card.

As an Orlesian character, we would hear the Orlesian accent as the standard DA:O English accent. But when a Fereldan or Marcher opens his mouth, he'll sound foreign.

There must be at least a few outrageous accents, all the better to taunt silly kNIGhts whose mothers were hamsters.

Ok. Truth time.

I hope they do. If it's set in Orlais why not? Because a few people have problems with a particular accent? I never knew there was such a dislike for the French accent until this game was announced.

Perhaps its a regional thing. When I went to Canada earlier this year I had no idea there were so many people who frowned upon English. (In fact, a few friends of friends happened to say call me Anglophile every other time they slipped into French and I couldn't understand them). So perhaps those of you that dislike it... dislike it for some regional-cultural reasons?

I mean. Honestly, it's just an accent. These games are full of them including French.

Ah wahnt mah character to zpeak lahk ze French guard frahm Mahnty Python and ze 'oly Grail. Ah wahnt to zound az ahbnahkshus ahz pahzzible. Hon hon hon.

But seriously, I think it entirely depends. It's possible we'll travel to places other than Orlais - like Nevarra, other Free Marches cities, maybe even the Anderfells (fingers crossed for obnoxious German accents). So it's possible we'll hear a variety of accents. That said, we don't know anything about any characters in this game, or what the plot is, or anything. So asking now about the percentage of accents... especially when they're probably still recording voice actors at this point... seems a little premature.

I wanted Dragon Age 3 to take place in Scotland, not France. All of the French people in Origins were annoying. Leliana was the only one who had an accent that sounded genuine. I think it was genuine, actually.

"I need an answer, is everyone going to have a french accent?"

If Sandal and Bodahn appear in DA3, the answer is no.

I suspect the Inquisition will hire more than just Orlesians.

The French/Orlesian accents should be normal and restrained, while the Fereldans should have to either talk like Dick van ****** in Mary Poppins or like Bertie Wooster. Since the Fereldans are the funny foreigners now.

(Assuming the game is set in Orlais of course, which isn't anything like confirmed.)

This.

Everybody having an accent would be far too distracting.

To answer the OP's question, we can only hope. It would be especially wonderful if the PC had a charming French accent.

I like the accent and idea of giving different cultures and nationalities different accents. I much hope they stick with it.

I think it would be cool, even if the PC had a French accent, too... so long as they're pleasant accents. Real French accents certainly can be pleasant. I doubt BioWare would have all the characters use some of the hilarious (but annoying) Orlesian accents we've heard so far (Isolde is a favourite), so I don't see the harm in it. It would make Orlais feel different, which it should.
This is assuming the game is set in Orlais. It might not be, or may not be only set there. I think there's a rumour that it takes place in many places, so we might get to hear a variety of accents. I'm fond of the idea, personally.
