As long as the PC doesn't have it and the accent is kinda mild like leliana I will be fine. If they do that accent like that or orlesian couple in Kirkwall that you go to to find their son for Meredith I will cry
Well Orlais is Bioware's medival version of France so most likely but they may have fereldens and antivans in it and such , so you won't go completely mad

Only Leliana can pull off a cute Orlesian accent.
So unless Leliana's voice actress wants to voice act every female then no.

The French/Orlesian accents should be normal and restrained, while the Fereldans should have to either talk like Dick van ****** in Mary Poppins or like Bertie Wooster. Since the Fereldans are the funny foreigners now.
I support this game having Bertie Wooster.

If it's done by french actors, using natural accents, sure. If it's done by people faking an accent, GOD I HOPE NOT!!
Funny thing is Bioware has done authentic accents (including french) in their games before but were accused of using fake sounding accents. Even when they had authentic voice actors.
Made me lol it did hearing that.

DA might have had its carcicatures, but there are characters with good accents too. Riordan/Stroud, Duke Prosper, Gascard du Puis, Leliana, and Aura (Kristoff's wife).

The xenophobic vibes in this thread are making me uncomfortable.
Seriously.
I'm not French myself, but I live in an area of Canada with a 50/50 French/English population. Hatred for French people and French accents is the most real and daily form of racism that I encounter and this whole post is outrageously uncomfortable.
I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed: Liberation on the Vita. It's set in 18th century New Orleans and about 80% of the cast is French, Acadian and Parisian both. I'm really enjoying the accents and I think anyone else who played it would agree with me! Aveline de Grandpre has a beautiful voice and her accent is very soothing and pleasant, and after a while it's the English and American accents that give you a jump and seem out of place.
I'd be highly disappointed if Bioware sets a game in Orlais and then goes to lengths to avoid the French accent out of some sense of compromise to the bizarre amount Anglophones loathe the French. It's the established accent for that region and the insistance on not using is is pure prejudice.

To clarify, I don't have a problem with french accents (with the exception of Lady Isolde's) I just want to know how French, Orlais and DA3 is going to be, on a scale of Paris to my ex Girlfriend whose step mom has an ancestor who at one point went to france. I am really sorry if I seemed to be Anti-French in any way shape or form

It would get kinda annoying. As would everyone having a very american accent for example. British accents suit the world best but I dont know how the devs would explain orlesians having the same accent as fereldans.
If we assume everybody's speaking Orlesian I guess it's okay to have most characters using English accents. I've always preferred this approach to what I consider the tacky Hollywood technique which was used in Schindler's List (a movie I otherwise have a lot of respect for); I was hardly going to have trouble telling the Jews apart from the Germans/ ****s. Just because characters aren't speaking English (or Ferelden in the case of a DA game) doesn't mean I need to be reminded of it every second.
On the other hand if the majority of the French accents are subtle enough and there's a good representation of other cultures (Dalish elves, Dwarves, Fereldens, Free Marchers, etc.) in Orlais and everybody's speaking in Ferelden because it's the common language of trade/ diplomacy, then I'd be okay with that too.
Nobody seems to complain too loudly about silly accents in Skyrim, with more than half the male Nords sounding like Arnie, e.g. "You arghh guilt-ee of moordah and coonspiracy!!"
