I've been to the door for the Crow Quest in The Pearl with three different characters. Rather than asking me to tell a password it just says "Not possible to pick". Why am I not being given the dialogue options?

The first time I attempted to use the door I didn't have the password and so I said 'Sausages" I think or whatever that option is, and got sent away. Ever since then, even after finding the poster, I haven't been able to get any options for that door with the original character or any other.

Windows Vista, intel core 2 quad processor 2.33GHz, 6 GB RAM, using the latest version of the game.

Any help would be really appreciated. I can't do the Crow missions at all.

I have seen the poster. The door does not have any options on it - even if I had not seen the poster the door would still give me options for a password, such as "sausage". Instead it says "Not possible to pick".



And it's a Crow quest as far as I know. I've done all the quests from the Chantry.

which door? the crow quest room is enter-able even before getting the quest. are you talking about the door to the... "front office" that has a chest?

If you check the poster on the wall near the entrance to the Alienage you get that right password. Then you can go to the Pearl again. This time it someone will answer your knocking^^

TimeLordCat is correct if it is the door I think you're talking about.



It's not that particular door. There is another door perma-locked as well. After I finished the poster quest door the other door was unlocked as well.

Is anyone bothering to actually read what I've said? I HAVE READ THE POSTER!



There are TWO doors in The Pearl that are locked. The one at the very back of The Pearl, the one that has the Warden hunters inside of it, it is not giving me any options to give a password at all. Whether I hae read the poster or not, it will not display any options. It just says "cannot be picked". It says this across ALL of my games.



I know you can enter that door before getting the quest from the Crows, but I cannot enter it before, after or any other time. The door just says "cannot be picked". It is supposed to give dialogue options.

This may be rather obvious, so I apologize if you've already done this - did you talk to the Pearl's Proprietress? One of the dialogue options has her pointing you to a back room - which should now give you the "What's the password?" prompt.

I spoke to her. she motions to the back. The door still says "Not possible to pick". (both doors still say, just for those who thinks I'm talking about the office door).

Something is broken and I don't know how to fix it, I just thought I would post to tell you I understand exactly what you are saying, the back door should have dialouge options after you start the crow quest, and it has nothing to do with talking to the propietor or reading the poster, the propietor just gives you a hint, and the poster only gives you the correct password, neither prompt the dalouge. Hopefully someone will see this and be able to help you out.

Is it the barkeep at the GNT that gives you this quest?  No got it its Master Ignacio he gives you the quest then the note , then the door.  Did you get the quest from M I?  Ok reread your op and it seems you have.

Miphious, what mods do you have installed? Your problem sounds like what I've read from people who have the "Bash Lock" (or whatever it's called) mod installed. The script for this mod triggers before the door's normal script. Because this door has a lock you can't pick, the mod tells you that and you never get the proper dialogue option.

Thank you, Carodej. I'm not home right now so I'll give it a try tomorrow, but that's probably what it is. I always forget I even have that mod since it seems like something that should just naturally be in the game.

Pick pocket everyone to presumably get a key for at least one of the locked doors, that way you can narrow it down to just the 1 door that you can't enter.
