Sniping is the only thing that sets the infiltrator apart from the other classes imo (other than certain weapon steroid classes that are well known). Why would you give up such a thing in a shooter?

I like SG Infiltrators better than snipers.. I have all my sniper Infils built with longer TC duration... I like doing the "disable 4 points" objectives..

No need for the snide remarks, because I read about a lot of praise on these boards for Infiltrators, so I was curious. And I don't particularly find them fun to play with despite trying. If you have nothing better to add than a sarcastic troll post then you're not compelled to post in this thread.

They are actually one of the more boring classes to play in single player, but probably one of the most effective in multiplayer if played correctly.

Well yes I would agree that because they all have tactical cloak things can become dull after a while. However nowhere does it state they have to use snipers, just because in the previous two games they did.

Geth - try melee, or shotgun, or javelin with max piercing plus drill ammo.
Salarian - try a shotgun, try creating tech bursts using appopriate ammo type and energy drain.
QuarianF - sabotage is (despite the countless nerfs) still an amazing power. Beyond that use whatever combination of melee/weapon that you like.
Human - cryo blast is deceptively powerful, but you need a good weapon to capitalise on the debuff.
QuarianM - lots of options with arc grenades and tac scan.
Shadow - melee for heaven's sake.
Ghost - more of a soldier to be honest.

Yes you do need to use a powerful weapon with any of them, unless you are going full melee geth or shadow, in which case you could get away with a weaker weapon.

I thought so too until the QMI was released. But I don't really play him like an infiltrator. I spec TC for duration so I can solo objectives, but I equip him with my Hurricane and toss arc grenades like they're free candy on Halloween.

Then, there's the Shadow. My own personal Phantom.

I only really like my MQI. I slap a mattock on him, though, and focus on scouting and tac scanning, and occasionally going nuts and opportunistically getting arc grenade kill streaks. Oh I guess I like my GI - but let's not talk about my poor GI, there's a reason I don't use him much.

Using anything but a PC to play ME3 with is disrespect.

Especially Xbox 360s - that's just heresy, discourtesy and something only a peasant would do.

You have mindless shooters like CoD for consoles.

But the COD hacks on PC are so much more fun... nothing like aimbot/wallhack. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about... being a PC player and all.

I have ventured into the shotgun wielding infiltrator genre myself. The Geth Infiltrator is an absolute powerhouse with a piranha shotgun equipped provided its cloak is spec'd for damage vs duration.

The most effective setup I have found is with the smart choke and shreddeder mod with a rail amp and explosive or incendiary rounds. This allows you to set up your own tech explosions with nothing more than repeated fire. Since he has hunter mode, not only can you see enemies through walls, but he has a fire rate mod in the hunter mode evolution tree similar to that of adrenaline rush or marksman.

The key with this kit is to keep the enemy in the "butter zone" which is just shy of mid range but not close enough to be qualify as close range. When cloaked, you instantly gain ~80% damage increase. Plus with the increased fire rate provided while in hunter mode it isn't difficult to fire several rounds before cloak is broken. This is an absolte brute of a setup. I have solo'd many silver matches and one gold match already with this setup. Try this against an atlas and then let me know how you feel about the infiltrator class.

the most powerfull, adaptable, usefull class in the game hmm i really dont see any negatives. if you are just putting snipers on i suggest its you that is making the class boring (not trying to be disrespectful). SI shotgun proxi mine an absolute classic class loads of fun and very usefull for hacks.
Lord syrian do behave and play nice not everyone can spend 3.2million building a half decent gaming machine and why would they when they can pick up an xbox pr playstation controller and game away
and bob2.0 infiltrator is my favourite class for the single player followed by the adept.

Hey, I do more than just TC and snipe on my QFI.  I use Sabotage and Sticky Grenades, too...



Seriously, I have a lot of fun with the QFI.  Picking things off with the Crusader never gets old.  I've also taken a shine to the Shadow, and she plays very differently than my QFI.
