Seriously, I have a lot of fun with the QFI.  Picking things off with the Crusader never gets old.  I've also taken a shine to the Shadow, and she plays very differently than my QFI.

im enjoying the shadow and i am so arrogant i am sure everyone wants to hear why so here goes
spec for slash and equip raptor with disruptor ammo cloak slash shoot tech = explosions everwhere. not tried on plat but love it on gold. plat i think might be a step too far for the raptor but i may try later

It has to do with Assassination going away in exchange for TC, and the entire class is a one trick pony because of it. When you look at the lineup of classes, there's a good amount of variety between the different kits. Every infiltrator has TC, which makes it difficult enough to balance TC that Bioware tweaks it and says, "**** it, good enough." There was an excellent oppurtunity to have the TGI use Assass instead of TC, but it didn't work out that way.

Combine all that with my personal distaste for most stealth classes of any kind (there is a difference between moving silently in the shadows and hitting a magic invisibility button), and the typical level of play I see from them now (rarely do I see good ones, mostly ones that die to husks on wave 2) leaves with the feeling that it's a crutch class for many.

Just pointing out that the answer to any question starting with the words 'Am I the only only one who...?" is almost certainly going to be 'no.' There's so many people on these boards that the likelihood of any one person being the ONLY one with a particular opinion/idea/strategy/build/whatever is practically nil.

As for non-boring Infiltrators... you could try a melee QFI...

6 TC - either, melee, bonus power
3 Sticky Gnd
6 Sabotage - backfire, explosion, tech vuln
5 Quarian - power, power
6 Fitness - melee, melee, melee
Weapon: shotgun + omniblade

Cloak > Sabotage > Heavy Melee > Shoot

hardly a crutch if they die on wave 2. i never ever spec for duration its all about the power i play to destroy the enemy rather than hide from them. as for magic button for invisibility its no different from a magic button to destroy on a molecular level with warp or hold an enemy in stasis so you can line up the perfect shot or explosion. where i do agree is that some should of had assassinate just to mix it up instead of all having the TC

I use my Valiant VI six on my Salarian Infiltrator and spend most of my time covering the group and reviving the fallen. ( +15 Revives Gold medal always).

Adrenaline module III on a salarian who cloaks means even on gold I can get to the person I on the other side of the map to revive them unless someone is standing over them already. If you go down in my game, I will always be running to get ya!

The only infiltrator I really snipe with is the quarian female and occasionally the male, the rest are shotgun and the ghost is the only assault rifle carrier. I personally find sniping fun, especially with Cerberus. Making their heads explode is just so satisfying, especially when its a phantom who never even saw it coming >

I love sniping on infiltrators, it makes me giggle, popping the heads of the enemy like a party favor is always amusing, and a good way to de-stress. Plus you can't help but go "Yes!" and fist pump when you headshot multiples (I once got five in one bullet, FIVE, on top of my drill round piercing the column they were in front of and hitting a phantom in the stomach).

I've got one of each, all set up for different tactics, which is the smart way to do it.

I like all the classes... but I only use Infiltrators to carry or on Platinum. I like Vanguards/Soldiers the most.
