First MP - always pounded the hours into SP over the years
Have almost as much fun talking with friends as playing the game, there are some great and interesting people on the forum
Semi-Retired.....walk the dog, play a few games:)
The variety at this point is extremly good
Tried a couple of other games after this one.....they just don't cut it for me.

The cooperative aspect is a big draw. With a good squad, I can cover someone else's back worrying less about someone ganking me. The weapons selection is also interesting, considering some of the weapons and mods (like the thermal scope) we haven't seen yet in campaign. It's also the only chance thus far we've had to play someone in the ME universe that wasn't Commander Shepard (specific to main games, and not including Joker's sequence of course). Playing as a Volus, Vorcha, Quarian, or Geth is just plain fun. I hate to admit it, but the new challenges system kinda has me hooked too. Anybody else put in a few extra hours JUST to get that Halloween special?
I like that as well. I did try a FPS online a couple of times and did not get the same feel of being part of a team. The whole mission construction (computer upload, escort, switches) seems to lend itself to forming a team. I frequently will text randoms I play with when they are really good team players.

I find it is a good escape for me. When I come home and start a match, I pretty much forget about everything thing else. Even in a gold match, it still seems to relax me. Sounds kinda weird doesn't it?
Seriously though, you sound like a very responsible person that has a lot going that will pay off for you in the end. Good luck to you and I would play with you anytime!
I'm just stressed out... a lot.
I like being responsible but there are times I just blow up pure aggression in the missions.
That's also why I don't like playing with people I know or talk too much in missions. I may say something like ''out of missiles, use yours please'', but that's kinda it. Not much of a wisecrack in missions.
Although I haven't been this stressed out since... I dunno 2-3 years.
So maybe should take a break from the missions. Other peoples eardrums might be saved...
Oh and if this **** pays off someday it'll be a goddamn miracle. The quality of our curriculum feels like pure murder atm... and spring is worse. A test where out of 42 people only 2 people pass should kind of raise some alarm bells in the ****ing facualty!!
Gah sorry rave and rant and derail. Thanks for the kind words dood.
yep I have been there too! Sometimes it seems like they do not want anyone to pass. But, I just looked at it like I am going to do my best and thats all I can do. If you know you give it your best shot, you really can't expect any more than that from yourself. Hope it all turns out good for you. I would still play with you.

It is so satisfying when your team synergizes perfectly and walks around the map destroying everything foolish enough to spawn. And then you also have those nerve-wracking moments when you have to carry a wave and are desperately running for cover from angry giant crabs after being taken down to healthgate.

When I get too enraged about Dota 2 and how bad I'm in it, I go back to ME3MP, because it's easy, and I'm having fun just playing as my favorite race. (Try to guess which...)
would it be the one that utilizes emergency induction ports by any chance?

That said Natural Selection 2 came out, so for the next little while games that aren't that don't really exist to me.

This.
They really managed to get a good 'feel' to the combat in MP. Honestly, I think the combat in SP isn't quite as good - it feels more like set piece combat, with all the pausing. The combat in MP is always bang-bang and in your face. There's just something about the tempo of it that just feels so good.
Also, I think the revive mechanic delivers a lot of thrills. Knocking back an enemy just before they stomp, clearing the kill zone of enemies, and then rushing in and getting the revive just before they bleed out is one of the greatest thrills any game has ever given me. Just did this last night on Ghost. Friendly was down and about to be stomped, and all in one smooth motion I came running up and hit a would-be stomper with concussive shot, bounced a frag grenade across the ground to kill three Marauders surrounding the position, and then lept over some cover to smoothly transitioned to the revive. Upon conclusion I emptied a burst into the concussed enemy to finish him off. I felt awesome.
That's really what it is. When it's not making me feel like an inept idiot, this game makes me feel like I'm awesome.

The game is awesome, Mass Effect always had a great combat system *Even in those ME2 days, but we'll even talk about that* but the multiplayer, IMO, offers more than single player really. In SP your so invincible and after having every button ever, it's kinda hard to get any challenge out of it. In multiplayer it's teamwork or die(or run halfway across the map every other minute for an hour or more).
