Because I feel like "V" when I overhead grab someone with my HI...
A really "modern" "V"...
...........
And it's fun to make up stories for the team in your head while you play this CO-OP... and it's just fun to play it overall...
Why Do You Play?

- To relax after work
- The co-op is great
- I like playing with PUGs, especially if it turns out that it's a team that works well together
- The living game, means that BioWare puts engergy and effort in it to keep it interesting, fun, changing
- BSN, where the devs talk with us which makes the game more personal
- Still some challenges and banners to get
- Not yet all stuff maxed out
- I'm addicted

I play because it's fun.
Specifically, the multiplayer is still fun after playing it regularly for over four months. That's a level of replay value I last experienced with Left 4 Dead, and with Counter-Strike before that (MMOs excepted.)

Mostly for fun, and the creative banter that goes on between me and my team mates. Personally I hate silent games, I always like to make jokes - at the expense of our enemies. My team mates and I set up mini challenges like - bringing an atlas down to its last bar of health and getting our combat drones to finish it off.

Because I enjoy shooting stuff and using powers at the same time. Also I got no money to buy new games (not that there are many that interest me to begin with.)

It's either this or heavy drinking..
Although playing this enough tends to lead to the latter...

This. It's fun. It feels like Mass Effect, which I enjoy immensely.Zero132132 wrote...
I hated the notion that there should even BE a multiplayer when I heard about it. I was enraged. Now, I play it because truth be told, I rather enjoy it.

I play becasue it's a co-operative multiplayer and it reminds my of simpler times when multiplayer wasn't online. I also love the strategies, and the mass effect universe. I find that working together to fight NPC's us fun,and it's a wonderful break from all the other "big named" multiplayer shooter games.

Because I enjoy Mass Effect as a series, and find the co-op multiplayer to be a nice refreshing break from all the competitive FPS's on the market today.

I can't leave the Mass Effect universe but can't bring myself to play through the trilogy again just to take my 3 option ending from the star brat.

I like shooting things in the face.
I'm not confined to Shep.
More Mass Effect.
Jiggly Bumbums.
Pumpkins.
PvE Co-op.
For me, it just doesn't get old.

Multiplayer? Because it's the only TPS that has a good set of powers to use in combination with weapons.
Every other (modern) thing I can think of is either overly focused on weapons, focused down one type of "power" (ie DXHR - only techy stuff), or is overly focused on powers and has little/no fast paced real time shooting element to it.
Try to find good cryo effects (with shatter and explosions), or force effects (like pull or throw) in another game - if you know of one, please PM me the details!
The last time I played a game which had a balance of weapon use and powers was one of the Jedi Knight series (RIP). No "action/rpg" since has delivered on that front.
Here you can choose tech (for the fire/ice/lighting feel), or biotic (for that force power feel), or just straight combat if you want to play it as an ordinary shooter.

I play for two reasons:
1) I'm a lore nut who enjoys the ME Universe and likes making my own little stories about the brave soldiers in the universe who are locked in a never-ending struggle to fend off annihilation. The characters have a nice feel about them, and the option to experiment with different play-styles and tactics still makes me smile.
2) I'm a soldier in real life, and, I don't know if other soldiers will relate, I prefer my shooters to include guns and bad-guys that are less 'realistic'. We have enough conflicts in the world, and enough real battles to fight, that I prefer to not spend my spare time pretending to fight them. Imaginary Asari fighting to free an imaginary home world from an imaginary enemy is my type of war game.

Friends come and go but what is persistent is:
Awesome dodges
Powers and their behaviour
Funny taglines
Coop Mode
Challenging difficulty
Exceptional gameplay - (Everybody was talking about the story aspect of ME - did BW actually get any credit for that outstanding MP thing they served?)
Good graphics and artwork (try one of those slow-mo videos by Buzykill)
Ranting and whining and real devs at BSN
Anyway, did you ever observe people playing shooters? It's hilarious, they move their head and try to look around the corner, although it makes no sense. I guess it's the action and the immersiveness in good games mixed with hunting insticts.

Several reasons:
- Game is over after 11 waves. I can play for 30 to 60 minutes and be done unlike Halo & Gears of War horde mode
- Prefer co-op to player vs. player
- Configurable builds & the "collectable card" aspect of weapons, gear, and characters (as problematic as it can be to get certain things, I still enjoy that aspect)
- Variety of characters to play
- The ME universe is a fun place to play
- Haven't had the time to invest in any SP games lately (even ME 3 SP)

Because my therapist tells me I need an outlet for my rage ever since I was molested.
Also, multiplayer games make me feel like I have friends.

1. Because I like it. As repetitive as it is, I enjoy the things i can change in playing as different classes with different weapons.
2. I have made some REALLY good friends who play. Granted, they are ALL gonna stop playing once Halo 4 comes out, but hopefully I can catch them now and then.
3. It's co-op.
For wahtever reason, competitive gaming makes me mad. Not because I'm bad, but because I feel I let my team down. Plus, about 1/3 the time, the other players are either DBs, racist, or annoying as ****. If I lose in ME3, odds are I did EVERYTHING I could to get the team out. It's not because I'm not as good as the other players.
