I don't think it has been confirmed whether ME2 on PS3 even has all the cameos.

What if this is just a dumbed-down import feature that only carries over decisions from the comic?

I am pretty sure they do not spend time in removing software items: it is easier to keep the game as it is and simply make it run on PS3. Removing cost time and may lead to bugs

I guess that makes sense.

Still though, since the game wasn't originally designed to handle import decisions there could be various bugs introduced through the import patch. I hope none of them are game-breaking.

EDIT:

Maybe they were planning to release ME1 on PS3 all along, but still. What if characters like Conrad Verner and Shiala aren't even on the disc?

I'm pretty sure that all that information is on the disc, but if thats true then that will be the last straw for me.

It's almost time for Mass Effect on PS3, can't wait to do a start to finish playthrough for the first time.

I'd love it if Bioware actually had the balls to try to pull this one... just to watch the atomic nerd rage that ensues afterwards (a lot of which would be coming from myself). Otherwise MegaSovereign, we really have no reason to believe this is true other than blind fear, so I'd suggest you just relax and wait until there is actually something to complain about.

I was looking at this old comparison:

http://www.videogame...s_xbox_360.html

Do you think that the ps3 port of ME1 will bring some of the PC improvements? Mako handling is the most appealing change.. Perhaps some of the inventory revamps too?

The inventory naturally worked better on PC because of the mouse and keyboard. I don't expect a major overhaul of the system but yea I'm going to go head and guess they brought over some of the PC improvements.

I am excited but kind of sceptic. Is anyone else scared that this port is going to be a bad one after what we saw with ME3 (not necessarily a bad port, but the first mission on Earth was very scary framerate wise).

I didn't see any framerate problems on my PS3 when doing that. I've played both the demo and the disc version.

I also don't think ME3 was ported to the PS3, but rather co-developed, which was why parts of its engine were used to port ME2.

Sorry, I'm going to have to be 'that guy.' I don't have the time to go through all the pages.

1. Will we be able to download ME1 on the PSN tomorrow? I already have 2 and 3, I don't need them again.
2. Will the patch to allow import into ME2 be comprehensive? (Will playing ME2 with an import on PS3 contain everything as if the transfer was on Xbox?
3. I noticed not all the DLC is included for ME1. Will we ever get pinnacle station, or is that gone for good? (I heard it didn't do much anyway, is that true?
4. Are there any upgrades in ME1, or is it a straight port?
5. This is more of an ME1 gameplay question, I haven't played it in ages. I don't want to pull the 100% completion that I did on Xbox way back when. What is safe to skip? (Item collection, sidequests, etc. I think I'll just skip item collection, but we'll see.)

^Don't answer this guy's question. People like him are the reason why this thread has 17 pages. It's full of people asking the same 3 questions.

You could at least read the FIRST page.

1. Yes (in US at least, not sure when EU PSN will upload it since technically the official EU premiere is on Friday)
2. Yes, there will be a patch released for ME2 either tomorrow or in the upcoming days. Again, it's up to whenever Sony uploads it on PSN. And yes, everything will transfer as on other systems (Conrad Verner, Shiala etc)
3. Bioware says it's done for good, but you're not missing any story. Pinnacle Station is a DLC with combat simulations. Nothing more. There's no story there that adds to the overall arc in any of the ME games
4. Straight port, but there may be some prformance upgrades to make it run better than on 360, but don't expect any new textures/lighting etc. It will look the same as on PC/360
5. That's subjective. In theory, you can skip all UNC missions but if you do, you won't have the best save to transfer to ME2

EU PS Store doesn't get updated on Fridays. It gets updated on Wednesdays. Are we going to have to wait until next week before we can download ME1?
