I've been humbled by the brutality of combat in ME1. A couple of embarrassing deaths on Eden prime has taught me to calm drown and take it carful.

...but having a tough time with hacking. Feels like it's bugged or something.

No you just have to hit the buttons right as they come up but I feel your pain the first time I tried it it took me like 10 to 15 tries since I had no clue how to do it.Image IPB

Ah, you guys playing ME1 for the first time? When I first played it (years ago), I thought it was difficult. I was playing on normal, and I kept dying. Now I play it on veteran or hardcore without breaking a sweat.

My tip: Try a soldier for a first playthrough. You can wear heavy armor, so more armor options are available to you. It definitely improves your survivability. And then of course there's the Immunity power. 80% damage reduction when maxed out. After you get used to the game, you can try other classes.

Now, I came into this thread because I heard there were some glitches on the PS3 version. I haven't bought it, but I'm thinking about it. Eventually.

Well I was one of the few who bought the trilogy box set inorder to get a physical disk coppy of ME1 and love it! I'm a tad disappointed that I had to buy two games I already own ( technically third, as I have 3 copies of ME2, as i got one coppy for free for attending the Legendary Pictures Pannel at Comic Con back in 2011.) Gameplay wise, my only complaint is that it is hard to get into cover and I have to try and dodge gun fire, though I do remember that getting into cover in ME1 on the PC was also troublesome. Yes there are a few very minor glitches that I have run into, like not having one very short cutsene play, but have the audio of said cutsene playing, however, they are very small and very non troublesome. If there is anyone on the fence on weather or not to buy ME1 on the PS3, I would say that you should totally buy it. I thought that it was worth it, and I am sure that you will too.

Mako was easy to handle with a keyboard butnot so much with a joystick.
About Thresher Maws: they can live for millenia as spores, so they pretty much are widespread all over the galaxy.
By the way, killing them on foot gives a ton of XP (also shows how hardcore you are :P)

The problem with thresher maws, though, is the possibility of being instantly killed. When you're in the mako, keep moving. When you're on foot... I don't know. Just try not to be where the maw surfaces.

So Bioware says that the day the ME Trilogy comes out, we will be able to purchase and download MEI on the PSN.

As of now, you still not download it.

What's up with that Bioware?

the only new full game on PS+ is Bioshock 2. it was RE5 before

the 1 hour trial for Arkham City is up though. not sure about the other games

Uh... no, I definitely downloaded the full versions of Arkham City, Vanquish and Limbo... but I'm in Europe, are you in North America? I think Sony doesn't release the same games in the two regions... here is the list of games released this week in Europe.

I have ME on my laptop and absolutely hated the Mako - but I have to say, on the PS3 it handles like an absolute dream! I despised Mako missions so this is a vast improvement on what I was used to before. I am very very happy:happy:

Thanks, 'genius'. You couldn't work out my point that if the trilogy could only be released in two parts, it shouldn't be released at all?

Well, now you know.

Thanks for your 'contribution'.

And your 'history' lesson...yawn.

Nothing to do with the stupidity of releasing a trilogy...in two parts.

Thanks for playing.

It is up on the PSN.

EDIT: Urgh, I'm caving in and buying the PSN download. I'm too impatient to wait for a trilogy price drop and be stuck with ME2 and 3 if I can't sell them.

That "Bring down the sky" dlc, is that on the PS3 disc or do we have to buy it on the Store if we want it?
Think I read that we were supposed to get it with our copies.

On the cover of ME2 it says:
Includes 6 hours of bonus content, Kasumi, Overlord and LotSB.
Just mentioning for you guys who haven't played ME2 yet and wonders if there's dlcs on the ME2 disc.
I already have them, and I didn't have to redeem anything when I first played ME2, it's on the disc so.

The boxart on the one I got is the same as Xbox and PC.

Installing ME1 is almost as bad as installing Bioshock 1, took ages and the music was in a loop :P

North America (or the US at the very least) gets the fancy box. EU gets box containing 3 seperate cases.

In Europe the Trilogy set on PS3 is in a normal box with a normal set of three discs in cases.  The special case was released in the U.S. only as far as I remember.  Trust me, the case is cardboard, flimsy, and the exclusive artwork is all stuff we've seen before and it has a big grey N7 on the inside on a black background.  That's it.  I'd almost have preferred the European style of box to be honest.

As far as I know, Bring Down the Sky follows the ME2 method of giving us the DLC content on PS3 and that it's included with the disc or part of the install.  I didn't have to download anything extra.

Hehe nice, the trophies makes it so that you have to replay ME1 again if you want to get them all :D
Not that I think I would really need to be convinced to play it multiple times xD

I have Mass Effect on both the Xbox and the PC and the PS3 version is a great port. There is much less in the way of delays in textures loading and the frame rate is much higher than the old 360 version. I wish the 360 version had been updated for the trilogy as well since I like the controller much more on that console. Overall nice job on the port. I have also enjoyed reading of people shocked by the difficulty level. The first ME is more RPG so until you level up and increase your accuracy you'll struggle in a few encounters. Just make sure to do as many side missions as you can before tackling certain missions such as Noveria.

Wish they made it where you can level your squad at the same time. XD Nevertheless, I am loving this game.
