I don't understand all the hate the Mako gets. I think it's quite easy and fun to drive around and explore worlds in. It's really a shame that it have been removed from ME2 and 3. I like the variety it adds to the gameplay.

That's why I love doing the sidequests for Mass Effect 1. The graphics for driving with the Mako... some of them are just so realistic and breathtaking... makes the sidequests so amazing!!

It's also kind of funny where you hear the same enemies scream I WILL DESTROY YOU!!! all the time xD

Got it and I love it!! Don't listen to that jerk at IGN. I always thought they were a bit biased (stupid) over there. ME 1 is good role-playing. As one poster said, this "older" game is much better than a whole lot of the "newer" trash that is flooding the market today. Thanks BioWare!

I'm glad PS3 owners are finally getting to experience the full series.

it has been years since i played the first game. even after all this time i remember the thing i hated most. that damn film grain. couldnt stand it then, cant stand it now. im just glad it can be turned off

one thing i had forgotten though, scars. i get why Shepards scars could be gone in ME2, but why werent they still an option?? actually after thinking for a few seconds, it kind of makes sense they werent in the game. would of been better to have the ME1 scars than the ME2 scars though

did one playthrough already and noticed different/added dialogue between femshep,Jacob and Miranda at the beginning of ME2

doing another playthrough to get the rest of the trophies for ME1

have to say, its easier using the hand controller for the Mako than using the mouse and keuboard

Yes I have and thought it was a fresh intake of ME2, hey did you noticed the game was fixed (runs smoothly and audio has been fixed) or is it just me?

I know not the exact place for this, but since many people are discussing Mass Effect 1 anywho...is the ally achievement bugged on ps3? I used Garrus and Liara during the whole game and neither achievement unlocked. v.v As far as I know I did ever side quest even.

Did they remove the elevator from ME1?

For those asking "What's so bad about the Mako?", you haven't tried climbing those damn steep mountains yet. It has very little grip. The worst part is, every planet has some kind of mountains on it.

I used to think this, but I've figured it out and it's pretty easy now. All you gotta do is go up at and angle instead of straight up and you can almost always make it.

and this is why I was so annoyed with Bioware for taking the Mako exploration out of ME2 and 3. I can't wait to revisit these planets.

I've gone through my playthrough of the first game in just under two days, and I must say... I really, really enjoyed it! Thank you so much, Bioware, for the fun pleasantries! Driving the Mako was fun, and getting to choose my own choices at last instead of the six main choices in the Dark Horse comic made it even more fun.

Also, the fun on talking to the squad members (instead of hearing the hilarity of Garrus' calibrations) after each mission just made it worth it. Again, thank you so much, Bioware, for this awesome experience!

Tomorrow, I play ME2! Weeee!

It feels a lot better to play the game on ps3 than on pc. I had never even got past eden prime on normal before (always had to switch to casual) but now it was easy.

I just reinstalled my old ME1 and replayed it for the first time in years. And wauw! It's on almost all levels a superior game to ME2 and ME3. You have real control in character development, skills like security and decryption, not to mention charm and intimidate. The sidequests are fun and you have real exploration. So many planets have hidden stuff lying around, and vile treshermaws lying in ambush.

I like the Mako. It can be tricky to control, but as it is able to navigate an almost vertical mountainside, it's just absurd to say it has poor grip. The main point to remember about it, is that it is a vehicle. That means you can't go full throttle in rough terrain. It beats that ridiculous hovercraft, the Hammerhead, from ME2 with a mile or more. Great level design as well.

The only point where ME2 and ME3 are superiour are in character interaction. And... ME has a great story as well.

I perfected that climbing with the Mako got to the highest points with a bit of practice, when you're climbing near vertical slopes zig zag your way up them but you have to take your time, trying to climb at to steep an angle won't get you far, lateral movements pointing sideways more than straight up will get you there, less acute angular acsent works, more side than up, try not to gain to much atlitude to fast. Also try a different mountain side if you can't get up the side you're on.

Sure I have. At this point I think I have been on most of the planets, and surveyed all the different stuff lying around. Sure sometimes a mountain is in the way, but if you diverge just slightly from the direct path, you will easyli find a way across all the mountains.

Now I will return to the main missions. So far I have only done the Liara recruitment mission. =]

If there's one thing I miss from ME1 that gets a lot of hate, it's the elevators. I prefer them over loading screens.

Now, I've been wondering about a way to get a boxed copy of ME1 separately on the PS3. I'm thinking about the UK version (I've heard that version has seperate cases), but I've never imported anything before.  Also, would I be able to download DLC from the US PlayStation Store if I had the UK version of the game?
