Arcane Warrior / Blood Mage, used mostly as a tank but occasionally (if Sten and/or Shale are out of business) as a damage dealer... what is the absolutely best Armor + Weapon combination? I'm never properly satisfied by the outcome.
Best Armor + Weapon combo for an Arcane Warrior?

Armor: Evon the Great's Mail, replacing the Chest piece of Wade's Superior Heavy Dragonscale Armor set, maintaining the set bonus.
Weapon: Maric's Blade
Shield: Cailan's Shield
This is a good combo for mana regen and damage bonus, but I guess there are other good options, and surely there is nothing like the best combination.

My favorites are blood armor + warden commander boots,
because i get such a large mana pool so i can eventually fire off a mana clash
at the start of a fight while already having all sustainables on.
blood armor also give extra life, never wrong but especially right if you also use BM on occasion.
gloves of diligence in the orzammar library has the highest armor of them all
Weapon combo is spellweaver + ignacio's dagger, and i boost them with flaming weapons
and get almost as high dmg output as a dual wield warrior on momentum.
did i say that ignacio's dagger has more protection than any shield ?
that is on top of the doubled hit rate with those dual flaming weapons.
flaming weapons should also be boosted by spell wisp & might at activation.
Then there are the usual:
andruil's blessing belt, in mage towr merchant IIRC
Spellward or blood gorged amulet, the latter amulet only at high lv tho, since you trade away mana for life
Lifegiver ring obviously
helm of honnleath, or corruption
ed, and rock armor is a given, it should be the very first spell you pick,
and you need around 30 dexterity for good hit rate,
the rest of the points may aswell go into magic, perhaps a couple points into constitution

Thanks guys! I'm actually rocking Starfang + Cailan's Shield, and I'm working on the armor!
Still got some problems with stats (I need to work on Dexterity, since I put almost everything up to this point into Magic and Willpower) but it's working!

My basic strategy as an AW/BM is lots of Sustainable spells running behind which actually nullify my mana pool, using only life to cast spells and doing massive melee damage / being a tank as an AW.
But in order for 2 particular spells to be activated all the time, I had to find tons of mana regeneration items from somewhere. Therefore the following suggestion is certainly not good looking, BUT I use the Winter Forge mod in order to transfer properties to other items, so you can actually overcome the appearance issue while not using 3rd party item sets or anything.
Duncan's Sword + Fade Wall
Vestments of the Seer
Black Hand Gauntlets
Warden Commander Boots
Helm of Honnleath
Andruil's Blessing
The High Regard of House Dace
Lifegiver
Blood Ring
