I absolutely hated this gun in Mass Effect 2, so I never dared to touch it in ME3. The Assault Rifle challenge made me try it; I gotta say, this thing kicks ass on Gold.

It's really stable and accurate, it's got decent damage, and it's really easy to score headshots with it because of the three-burst mechanic. I'm not Jay_Hoxtatron, but I think I got the 20 headshots fairly quickly regardless.

Anyone else noticed this while playing around with the challenges?

I have been used the vindicator since release, it has always been a nice gun.

Agreed, I took it for a spin once and it didn't feel like it was actually doing much (having used the Harrier the game before) until i realized everything I was triple tapping was actually dying.

Funny, I liked it in ME2 but not near as much in ME3. Not saying its a bad gun, just not my type of thing.

It was my gun in single player, not keen on the multiplayer one but I'll give it another go soon enough for the challange.

It's all a matter of taste and preference. I can only say it has surprised me in a very positive way. There are a lot of uncommon guns that are, in fact, quite viable on Gold and Platinum.

Agreed, the vindicator is a fun weapon to run on gold with.

I found the same with the viper, I hated the way it fired in ME2 and only tried it in ME3 after the challenge system introduction in MP and have been destroying grunts with it.

ME3 vindicator is more than 10 times weaker than a pale shadow of its ME2 version

ME3 Vindicator = Tickler of Worlds.

Then you should try the Argus. I suggest scope for accuracy bonus and any Turian for stability bonus, but it can be very lethal in the right hands.

I'm not a huge fan of burst-fire or rapid-fire weapons so in most cases I avoid it, from the little I have used of it, though, it isn't bad for what it is.

This. They did the same thing to the eviscerator. It makes me sad.

In ME2, I didn't like it at all and much preferred the Mattock. In ME3, I still prefer the Mattock, but the Vindicator isn't too bad and I actually use it on two characters.

Yeah, I loved it in ME2.  It was a headshot machine, and was tied with the Locust for my 3rd favorite gun in that game (behind the Viper and the Scimitar).  (EDIT: I never downloaded the pack that had the Mattock in it, but I hear that gun was awesome in ME2)

I can't say I like it that much in ME3.  It has a good balance of weight, damage, and range, but I just don't feel like it has quite enough damage to justify its use over other guns.

I tried it once and didn't really like it, and it's one of the guns I skipped for the AR Mastery (together with Mattock, Avenger, and GPR).
But I'll probably try it anyway, it makes the Mastery more 'complete'

agreed, favorite gun in ME2 on any class. Didn't care for it in ME3. Sadly, I might add.

useful for head shots but lacks the power of its me2 equivalent to be as good as it could have been. I tried both it and the argus out,, Argus is about where the vindicator used to be.

Mattock was useful on armor, otherwise the vindicator was much better. Mattock was good with adrenaline rush.

Try it on Turian Sentinel. Is it the Hurricane? No, but nothing is. But it's really great with disruptor ammo for all kinds of tech-y goodness.

it's always been a good gun....

one thing i do like about these challenges: a lot of the myths on here are gonna start to go away because people are finally using things that are actually good, but have gotten bad reps on here.....

ME2 Revenant = The God of Weapons. Thus, there was no need to use a Vindicator.
ME3 Revenant = Decent, but not great.

I use it on my AJA. Prior to the acolyte I used it ALOT on the AJA. It works well for burst fire in between powers. Its lights. Because it burst fires, you can keep shooting ALOT while blowing things up without eatting all the ammo like say -- the harrier...
